    Some where in the midwest.
1)Madison! because its a good central point for Midwest brewing.

not to far for MN, IA, MI, and IL. Surley, New Glarus, Lakefront, Bell's , founders, Toppling Goliath , 3 Floyds.

Wow, you could change this thread to one of those "what's the best beer city in the US" topics and most of the replies would likely look the same.

So then isn't DC one of the easiest, if not the best, when it comes to the alcohol laws. Ease of transport and plenty of hotels as well.

I'm from St. Louis, but Chicago makes the most sense. It's so easy to get to from any part of the country - direct flights from everywhere. Great breweries abound, and it's easy for most Midwest brewers to driver there in a few hours.

If you want to throw St. Louis a bone, we'll be grateful, though!!

The only issue I see with DC is that it's too close to Boston. Why move the festival next door?

Boston is still too far from DC for many and it could be said that a mid-Atlantic location opens it up to the entire east coast. But putting aside the homer hat, I agree. So how about making it a road show and rotating across multiple venues so everyone has a chance to go. Boston would just be one of the cities in a rotation.

Madison is indeed a great site for something like this, and the location and regional craft brew base would pack the fest if held there, but from a practical standpoint, Chicago is probably the best choice. Good facilities, reasonable prices, and centrally located so it's an easy/inexpensive flight from pretty much anywhere in the country.

I'd think Chicago would be a good site, but even better would be about an hour south and west OUTSIDE of Chicago, to eliminate having to have to drive into crazyland.

Chicago for sure. Midwest deserves it. Theme should be Old School vs New School. Breweries staying true to style that have used the same recipes for years like Bells vs breweries that are always looking for new ways to put a twist on different styles like Pipeworks or Shorts.

I also cast my vote for Richmond, VA. Awesome local breweries, one of the best beer bars in the country (Mekong), and a recent successful host to the National Beer Expo.

Aim for the middle, make it as easy as possible for several regions of the country to get there. Chicago or Milwaukee's a great idea with great beer culture if you're thinking Summer or Fall (no, I don't live in either place!)

Houston! As one of the fastest growing craft beer markets in the nation, and having one of the fastest growing breweries in the nation, Houston would be the ideal spot to host America's best.
