Just finished camp. Last beer, and overall winner in my book:

    And on to this:

I had this back in 2010 when it was Side Project #10 and didn't particularly care for it. The re-release isn't any better, IMHO, although this may be due to how the distributor/retailer handled the bottles. It looks good, but is pretty tasteless.

Speaking of better looks than taste:

Terrapin "Maggie's Peach Farmhouse Ale" -> Really great! Not typically a fan of peach beers, but this one is awesome.
Olde Hickory Brewery "Death By Hops" -> Always great.
Olde Hickory Brewery "Cuvee de Reinke" -> This years pro-am winner. It is really really good. It is the first "Belgian" to come out of the brewery, but this beer doesn't even need to be qualified like that, it's damn good, period.

Finishing up my last Sierra Nevada Rain Check. Such an easy drinking beer from being 8.9%
Great balanced flavor. Typical stout up front, get the ginger at the back, and the lime comes through on the aftertaste.

A solid hangover yesterday meant it was a dry day, so today I'm going camping!

I had half of the Beer Camp lineup on tap at the Blue Tusk in Syracuse, but I just picked up my own 12-pack two days ago. I figured an APA makes for a good lunch beer, so that's not a bad place to start, even if I have had it before.

From the label: "This pale ale stacks plenty of bright, fruit-forward, resinous hop varietals atop a robust malt base." Holy crap; the word ****s over on the "Dank" thread would shit bricks over that description if it came from a BA's review!

This is quite good; better than I remember it on draft (I ticked it a 3.50; review clocks in at 3.73). It's certainly not a hop bomb, so I understand why people might be disappointed (especially being a collab between the makers of SNPA and FFF ZD, arguably the premier APA brewers in the world). However, despite being well past the freshness a hop-head like myself might prefer, it's not old or stale at all. Just smooth and tasty.

Cheers, BAs! Some "easy listening" for your morning/early afternoon.

My first fruit lambic - real nice drinking - plenty of tart fruit up front, slow-drying finish...

Here's to (new ) beers in your glass!

Re-watching HBO's The Wire on Amazon Prime lately (yes, that's thing!). Just finished the first season (2002).

At least on the same level as NYPD Blue, Homicide, Hill Street Blues, but IMO, a little better.

    Also in 2002...

Finished organizing the bar, so I figured why not celebrate with a midday beer. Beer Camp #5. Like this one a lot.

And yes, those are Christmas decorations, but they're also Boston Bruins decorations. We represent year round.

    Happy Wet Your Whistle Wednesday.

Off little bit early ... so might as well put my feet up and relax at bit ...
So this one seemed fitting for today.
Wow just checked the BA Reviews IMO this one's slightly underrated. Delish.
