I agree that many distributors can be money grubbing pigs but why should they care about anything else? When did owning a beer distributorship become a charitable endeavor?

Rumor had it that online chatter is the reason why one prominent store stopped shipping to PA a couple of years back. They either didn't know or didn't care that it was illegal, but stopped. Used to be my Surly hookup...

You are way off topic. I never stated anything of the sort. If you want my opinion. No, they are not running charities. But no, they should not threaten lawsuit/legal action for laws that are b.s. to begin with (if this is even the issue, which I stated very clearly was a guess). Alcoholic beverage distributors run a known monopoly where they manipulate and bottle-neck supply, they shouldn't get butt-hurt when they get cut out as the middleman, even though a distributor should not be required in the first place (law states alcoholic beverages can only be shipped by licensed vendors i.e. the distributors).

Fortunately, this brewery has other options for sales. For businesses that were intending to be largely mail order, predicating a business model on illegal activity and then advertising it on the net implies either arrogance or utter stupidity-pick one.

Whether you agree with the law or not is immaterial.
