Likely to be frowned upon, for good reason.

What are the prices on the bottles? I'm going to try and get my girlfriends parents to swing by and grab me a couple, but it's a longshot. Unless some nice person would like to trade or sell one of them to me.

Granted it was pretty calm last year, but we shared a few bottles at the VSB release. I had an extra tasting glass and Dan sampled a few of the beers with us.

Are they still going to release the gueze or just the peach?

Sounds like the geueze is off the board. Maybe it's not ready yet. I get the feeling that the peach is made with Oud Bruin as the base, but with all the goodies left un pasteurized.

Plausible, but a long shot IMO. Every R&D beer has been it's own beer, with maybe the exception of the BB Kriek (unpasteurized Bourbon Barrel Belgian Red - not sure if I ever saw confirmation that was the case, but it certainly was speculated). Also, the Oud Bruin would not benefit from fruit like peach - it would be muddled with all the malt flavor that comes through in the Bruin. Maybe cherry/cranberry (which is pretty much what Enigma is), but peach would be turrible.

Edit: I would guess a similar base beer as R&D Sour Ale and R&D Sour Fruit.

I would assume that this peach would have to have been aging for quite some time. A proper sour ages for a few years, doesn't it? Oud Bruin isn't aged very long, so I doubt it would be used as the base.

I'm pretty sure the Sour Blonde will be the base for the R&D Peach.

The VSB base was brewed in 2010 and the bottles were released in 2013.

I asked Dan recently and he called the R&D beer "Brown Peach Ale". That's what led me to believe that it will be Oud Bruin. Unless the peaches are turning the Sour Blonde brown...

I'm with you on this one. Peach and the Oud Bruin seem like an odd combo to me. I'll definitely give Dan the benefit of the doubt though. He certainly knows his way around a sour (or any style of beer for that matter).

It's entirely possible that he has another sour brown base that he's been holding onto for awhile. hell, I'd be perfectly happy with a peach version of Wild Sour Ale.

Are there any official announcements yet or do we have to wait until next week?

Here's what I know to be fact: It's called Brown Peach Ale, at least by Dan, and it will be first released on Friday, 8/8 when the Beer Depot opens.

I don't have any confirmed info beyond that, but I think that others might.

Here are things assumed to be fact pending an official announcement. There is already enough misinformation out there. Let's try not to assume anything since even VSB changed names a couple times last year before release.

Until NG Posts on their Facebook Page (or equally legitimate social media) it's all rumor.

    Period.

And as we've learned in the recent past, what they post on Facebook may not be 100% accurate and/or details may change.

EDIT: I would also be willing to accept a post here from @newglarus
