A few sips of PBR from my grandma's bottle. That was almost 50 years ago and I can sorta still remember the taste... mostly like today's BMC but a little maltier and more bitter. My first full can of beer was Carling Black Label from my grandfather's cooler. Grandpa died 40 years ago and grandma is still alive, don't know how much their choice of beer had to do with it...

First beer was an MGD when I was about 16.

First "craft" beer was a Leinenkugel Snowdrift Vanilla Porter when I was 30.

In between was a vast desert of bad beer and missed opportunities.

When I was 12, my cousins and I stole Budweiser from the grownups after they had passed out on my Uncle's boat down at the marina. We all took one sip each, incredulously remarked about how bad it was, and pondered why anyone would ever drink such a wretched tonic.

Fast forward to 17, I was drinking Bud exclusively, but soon thereafter slowly got into craft. Now, once again, I wonder why people drink Bud with all the choices that are available.

I'll still drink Bud at a baseball game if that's all that's available, but even the big stadiums sell craft now...

Can of Bud Light - cut a hole towards the bottom with a pocket knife and shotgunned. Even if it had a taste I would not have known.

Orion. Some shit rice lager my dad drank when we were stationed in Okinawa. Apparently he passed out and I got ahold of it. Dunno how much I drank, but it was enough to knock me out for several hours. I woke up screaming bloody murder. This is all a second hand account told to me by my mother. I was four.

Stella Artois, didn’t hate but I didn’t think that it was worth drinking either, second beer I tried was probably Duvel.

Other than trying dad's at the ol' barbeque, it was a Carlton United Victoria Bitter at the pub at age 15. Absolutely hated it - and subsequently didn't pick up drinking beers again until I was 22.

Probably a Miller High Life my dad shared with me, around 1970. First beer I ever bought was called Pilsner in El Salvador when I ws a 14 year old exchange student. It was usually warm or at best slightly chilled, but to this kid it was delicious.

I was 17 at My first college party. Natty light was the beer available. I managed to drink four of them. That was the last time I had Natty Light.
