I don't know anything about the place Terry is referencing, but I've certainly encountered places where one would have to run one's card every time you made a purchase.

I was at a Pizza place in Gettysburg, Pa., that had hopslam on tap (which was the reason I was there). There was no actual bar area, and so you couldn't run a tab. You had to pay on the spot every time you made a purchase, and I was using my card for my purchases. After my second purchase, I even pointed out to them how ridiculous this was, but they just weren't set up to run a tab for anyone. I happened to have cash on me, so I went ahead and used cash from there on out.

Living on the East Coast (land of many road tolls), you become accustomed to always carrying cash on you wherever you go. However, I try not to ever pay with cash unless I absolutely have to (aside from the award points I get with the card, I'm always worried I'll be someplace where some emergency will come up where I can only use cash), which is why I wanted to use my credit card at the pizza place. Luckily, I did have some cash on me, or I would have been forced to do the same thing the guy in the bar next to Terry did.

It happens my friend. I know someone that does it because he will forget his card otherwise. May have a bit of a problem

This is all good, interesting info, but it misses an essential point: how many seats are you currently filling that might otherwise be empty if you had a cash-only policy? Let's say it's 5% (I pulled that number out of my ass). Would that $0.85 still seem like such a large cost? And what about the people who don't order that next beer because they've run out of cash? These are all unknowns, but I guess if you want to find out whether it makes a positive or negative difference, you can always change your policy.

You guys are getting all worked up over nothing. Toronado is actually going to be a Bitcoin only bar. Get your Bitcoin wallets ready for $12 tulips!

Walked over to Toronado from my house. Had a couple beers at the bar. Kept the layout of Mutiny Hall with new paint, artwork and more taps. Food menu looks awesome, will be back on Thursday with my wife for dinner.

Oh yeah. THEY TAKE CREDIT CARDS.

Assuming it's pint pours, unless otherwise noted? If so, I agree with @kscaldef. $6 a pint for Maui Coconut Porter? That's some Frisco pricing right there.

That's pretty in line with Seattle. $10 for Vieux Monde and RPM for me.

If there are two prices, one is for 16 oz, the other 12 oz.

I was hoping for some Alpine brews!! (I know I know...) When I was at Toronado SD last month they had Hoppy Birthday and Keene Idea on tap.

Nothing mind blowing on tap, but I'm sure they'll figure something out in time. Distribution laws, yo.

Honestly, I'm just happy to have another craft beer place within walking distance of my house.

Wow. It seems like some of us have lost all perspective. A Seattleite and a Portlandian look at this taplist and says, "Meh" or "Weak." An out-of-towner looks at this taplist and says, "Holy shit!"

A post on another site says that there will be a "Grand Opening" on Aug 30. Rumors of RR and Cali Alpine.
