Awesome, this is exactly how I think it should be handled. All fairness and in the spirit, plus we get to send/receive more beer which is really what this is all about anyway.

@jshusc, not that we have shared in a mini-BIF before, but I could help out with that all 9-inning mini-BIF in you like (my bet is it won't happen this year anyway).[/user]

For it to happen in nine innings it would almost have to be a road team as a home team that scores in all 8 innings will more than likely win without having to bat in the 9th.

Since 1900, only two teams have managed to score in each of nine innings of a game. On June 1, 1923, the New York Giants did it against the Philadelphia Phillies, winning 22-8. On September 13, 1964, the St. Louis Cardinals beat the Chicago Cubs 15-2 and likewise never gave the opposing pitchers an inning to be proud of.

It does seem like we're about due...

Yeah, most likely, but that was how the BIF was set up. Sort of like the BIF for a pitcher HR which pretty much took away half the teams. Sure, there was a small chance for an AL team to hit first, but it was weighted heavily towards the NL teams.

I was not trying to take beer away from anyone, just simply saying the feat technically was not accomplished.

It's kind of like how Randy Johnson got jobbed of the 9 inning strikeout record because the game went to extra innings even though he only pitched 9. It was a technicality that was out if his control, but still he was not recognized as the record holder. Just like the team here couldn't help it didn't have to bat again (short of giving up runs on purpose), but still technically there are only 2 teams in history that have scored in all 9 innings of a game.

My only point was that the Phillies sucked in 1923 even more than now! #@shandycan

I'd wager that's false... no way if the current day Phils gave up a 22 spot would they be scoring 8 runs themselves, hahaha!

Rangers could have killed me worse than those 3 games we saw in Cleveland this weekend....but thank goodness for a rain cancellation....or I could have been sending a box out for the Cycle to Chitown...(sox)

We're slipping down the list here... we need someone to win this thing so we can refresh. Plus it's been quite a while since we've seen any boxes go out... Arizona and Miami have a chance to end that today with a 4!

PLEASE don't let @jshusc's braves tick 13 against my Nats. That would be a kick in the nuts.

But I would be happy for him for how much beer he flings around this country he's got some good karma coming to him.
