I feel like by having the beers in the porch fridge you were asking for this to happen. Plus how did you not notice people were drinking your stash? Coulda told them to stop

I agree with you. I drank a few Buds on Saturday and they tasted pretty good

rookie mistake. have a party at your house, count on your fridge/stash being raided. it happens.

Family and friends can always drink any, and all, the beer in my house. They can make shandy's with Russian River sours or shotgun all the Heady for all I care. They're my friends for a reason, and family is blood. I can't imagine placing beer above that.

Rule #1 - All my good stuff is in my basement fridge and never available to the masses at my house.
Rule #2 - If you want to try one I will pour some in a glass for you
Rule #3 - I never tell them where my stash is.

Threads like these make me glad I work too much to have any friends aside from my lifelong ones. Working through most weekends kind of saves me from these shenanigans as well, I haven't been to a BBQ all summer.

Another thread shining a light on the holier-than-thou, my opinion is worth more than yours, patronizing attitude pervasive on BA.

A lot of people on here are not just beer snobs, but actual snobs.

I have enough beer in the house to last 4 years after a nuclear holocaust. With that said, If they did bring that stockpile down to 3 years I would have to go medieval on their asses...

Friends who can't be trusted to bring enough beer to cover their own consumption are no friends.

At a get-together, I always have a surplus of "gateway" beers as the only option for everyone to go for. I do not ever dictate BYOB, but my friends often bring what they wish to "begin" with, because they know many different beers will follow. Breitbart makes things crystal clear, without subtlety, staking out territory, so that many of us know better the spectrum of current American political thinking. That I disagree with most of what he says only challenges me more. Sometimes I cannot figure out why some of these guys are so mad. Natty Greene Buckshot (an amber "gateway") never fails to be obliterated by any group. I'm not a beer evangelist, but limiting choice to a pretty OK beer often changes minds and habits. Cheers!

Totally dude! I have the same problem. My friends never buy craft, but when they come over to my place the first thing they polish off is any craft in the fridge. Then they move on to the PBR's and Steel Reserves.

I actually have the oposite problem. People will dust off the Blue Moon and Coors before I literally have to open and place a good beer in someone's hand for them to try it.

Hmm where to start...Go big or go home..byob is lame. Most people who come to a house party/bbq will bring something regardless out of courtesy or because they like a certain beer/spirit(talking about adults here not 18-21 college kids) but you should still have some swill on hand to cover those or who dont bring anything or those who over indulge, extra points for providing gateway beers or even real craft brews. Secondly, if you had a stash you didnt want people touching why on earth would you put it out on the deck where I can only assume your bbq was being held? Id never go digging through someones fridge but if Im at a bbq/outdoor event its kinda assumed I think that any cooler/fridge thats outside is fair game.
