Beer Recs for Boat Party?

    So a group of friends are heading to Party Cove for a long weekend. There will be 4 couples, all relatively new to craft beer but willing to try just about anything. Looking for ideas on what type of beers to take along. The catch is we'll be staying on the boat all weekend. That means no bottles, got to have cans. Also, since we'll be out in the sun and in the water a lot, nothing with a high ABV. Want to stay awake to enjoy the show and also not drown. Thanks!

    Well, not my boat, and the owner said cans-only so I gotta comply. Plus this is Party Cove, there's going to be lots of drinking.

    well cigar city makes some decent stuff in cans, I have no idea what NC gets, can wise. Oh yea Blue moon is in can. I still love BM, but to me the bottle taste better. Never been a can fan....
    SNPA is in a can. get them all and experiment. No 1 can predict what others will like.

    every one has to taste them and figure it for themselves, IMHO.

    plus this would better off in the regional forum as locals will read it....

    just my 2cents. YMMV

    Not sure what gets distributed in your neck of the woods, but here's the cans I took on a recent camping trip.

    Founders All Day (bring it on, haters!)
    Westbrook White Thai, Gose, and IPA
    Sixpoint The Crisp

    Others to try: Troegs Sunshine Pils, Sixpoint Sweet Action (a tasty cream ale; an under appreciated style if you ask me)

    Ha, didn't know about that one, had to look it up. Sounds perfect, but to bad I can't swing by NJ, a little out of the way.

    Have you had it before? It's very, very sour. You can always bring some kind of fruit juice or fruit syrup to mix it with Gose.

    I have not, but I read the reviews and sounds like a pretty good choice. Light and refreshing, perfect for hot weather. I'll try one and see.

    Triangle Belgian-Style Golden
    Howard Action Man Lager
    Torpedo
    Nebraska Pale Ale
    Ten Fidy
    Dale's
    Deviant Dale's

    If you can get Westbrook stuff, I second, or fifth or whatever Gose and White Thai.

    Just bring some Sierra Nevada Pale Ale or Summerfest. Good intro to craft beers, easy to get, and affordable.

    Thanks! The 21st Amendment Watermelon also seems ike a good choice. Ditto on the Seirra Summerfest, though I think the regular Pale Ale may be a little too much in the ABV area. I'm sure we'll end up getting a good variety, probably need to take along about 6 24pk's total.
