I have no issue with em trying this. They have a waiting list of people wanting to prepay for what equates to $112 six packs which includes the privilege of buying more $75 six packs. Why wouldn't one think that these same folks wouldn't shell out over $800 for a beer weekend at the Viceroy?

I'm not going to Snowmass but I'm one of the folks buying the expensive six packs.

Personally, I find it elitist to pay a fee to have the privilege to buy any beer. That being said, I'm happy to trade for it.

Just a classic example of a bunch of people playing off of the rising popularity of craft beer. It's sickening. I, for one, get giddy when I read, "There are still bottles of xx beer for sale at store.crookedstave.com" because I can sense the disappointment on their part.

I think you answered your own question!!! :-)

If you read the fine print, it's $872 PLUS the cost of the two beer seminars....they are not included in the $872 rate. So basically, $872 buys you access to the following beers: Vieille Double Dry Hop, St. Bretta Summer Batch #1, Colorado WildSage, Surette, Batch #100, Bourbon Barrel Cherry Origins, Raspberry Origins, Raspberry Dark Sour, Blackberry Dark Sour, L'Brett d'Blackberry, L'Brett d'Or Grand Cru.

Maybe I'm wrong, but these beers are all available either to the public via the taproom or via our CS membership. Why in the world would I pay close to $900 to taste beers I either already have or can try easily at the taproom? Since when has CR become about something other than the beer?

Its not like you are paying $900 just to taste beers. I can't imagine 2 nights in a luxury hotel in Aspen is cheap, plus a 10 course meal? Its more about a vacation experience than just beer.

Not every event is made to cater to the ticking masses, so I give them a bit of a pass on this one.

I wonder what a 10 course meal looks like.
cheeseburger, ketchup, pickle, fries, coke and a sundae? Rats, that's only 7

I'm with the guys talking about the elitist-feel of buying a beer membership. I don't mind paying for say like a Mug Club at a place, maybe, but even then I'm a little weary of it. CS is great, don't get me wrong, but the Star-Wars-Nerd level of fanboyism is getting a little old.

Considering they initially said 0600, 2200 is a welcome change, albeit strange.

I confirmed with a source at the brewery that 10PM Thursday is correct and is not a typo.

Mine didn't have the faintest idea when it would be (and this was 1 day prior to announcement)...or at least that what they told me. Maybe it's me :grimacing:
