I just opened a bottle of Czar jack and it is definitely infected. My opinion is about the same as Arbitrator in his post above.

We opened a bottle of czar jack last night and it wasn't fully infected, but seemed to be heading that way. The jack Daniels wood flavors were rather peaty and the beer itself was one of the bigger let downs I have had recently (shadowed last night only by churchills 11 and 12). If you have a czar jack I would suggest opening that sooner than later and if you don't I would suggest passing on this bottling.

Who is surprised by the fact that Czar Jack is superior on-tap at the brewpub rather than a one-off bottling by an establishment that doesn't normally do bottling? MTH botched it when they upscaled Mango Mama so this should not come as a big surpise. They do, unfortunately, get caught up in the hype and demand sometimes.

After listening to all of you, I decided to open up my bottle of czar jack tonight and drink it by myself and I'm so glad I did, no sign of infection at all, pure deliciousness in a glass. If anybody wants some I still have half of the bottle left.

Sure.... ship it on over to me.

    What are you high????

I had a growler, and while not infected, it was very "Soy" . Not a soy-bomb like others I've had, but it wasn't particularly enjoyable.

Possibly because the residual sugar content in Bud Light is so low that there's nothing left for the bugs to chew through?

    HUNT DOWN THIS!!!

I opened a Czar Jack a few months back that didn't seem infected. It wasn't as good as I was expecting, but no hints of infection.

Yeah, because even the bugs don't consider it beer...

drinking a hand bottle of what was left over from last night now and it held up the day and tastes exactly as it did last night.

some folks at the tasting last night had this from growler in the past and said it was much better. while it isn't bad, per se...the bottle certainly did not live up to the hype and reputation that this beer has. i can definitely see the "soy" in the flavor, to me it is more JD peat flavoring, but soy definitely could be used to describe it.

Your comments always make me laugh but this one really takes the prize. There is no doubt that my intellectual level is so much superior than yours. Keep it up!!

You're right..... My lack of "Intellectual" is showing.

Either way.... I apparently will have the opportunity to try Czar Jack from a fresh bottle soon, so I look forward to the comparison.

What you don't understand is that taste is subjective and you are no one to decide what's good and what's not, this is what separates me and many others from people like you.

Seeing a post like this once in a while makes me wonder how many gym-rat BAs are out there. I always thought I couldn't be the only one...
