Getting a job in the beer industry

    . One thing that is kind of cool is i may be getting a job at Anheuser Busch. They said my qualifications were good and they will probably get back with me soon. I know how you all feel about macrobreweries, but this is my first job. Never thought i'd be working around my favorite thing to drink. Not macro lagers, but beer in general. I got to where i prefer it to whiskey.

    I am glad i will be most likely. Its a warehouse job, but it pays good and has good benefits. Plus they give you free beer. They bought out goose island, might be able to try it.

    Yeah i like this job. it was either there or amazon, and i was like free beer+ benefits? I'm going for Anheuser Busch. :grinning:

    I have had 2 part time gigs in the craft industry - lots of fun - was on the sales side though....so calling on bars and restaurants and bottle shops and spreading the love....and free beer as well! Enjoy it, young man!

    A certain brewer who makes beers you probably love got his start at AB - no shame in working for a brewery who is the best at being a business.

    What is weird is i will be working there and i've never had their main flagship beer, budweiser.

    It's not bad for being a rice lager. Not the favorite style of most of BeerAdvocate members, but Budweiser is a good example.

    Edit: Just stay away from Bud Light, in case you haven't had that either...

    Just awful.

    Congrats. Working in the beer industry is awesome. Lots of perks. And definitely gives truth to the old adage: If you do what you love, you'll never work a day in your life.

    it's much better out of a can, imo. cooler cold (read almost frozen) too. One of the greatest joys of my early 20's was cracking an ice cold bud after a long day of manual (landscaping) labor.

    fun fact: at Ole Miss, a can of budweiser was/is referred to as a "dirty white".

    See if there is a GI storage section of the warehouse you'll be working in and be our insider mole to keep a pulse on the top shelf stuff for us beer nerds.

    Congrats! I'm looking to get into the industry as well, so it's encouraging to see fellow BAs making it happen. Fortunately, I'm moving to Portland, OR in a few months. Can't think of a better city to start in beer!
