I'll be in the Huntington, Cost Mesa area for a week coming up. I also have family in Long Beach and will be there for a day. What are the chances I can score some of the following: Modern Times ( phalanx or Oneida) Alpine bottles Beachwood bottles Anything else I should target? I will definitely hit Hi Times for some bottle shopping, and can bring some CT stuff if anyone is looking for IP. I will have a bottle of Tree Houses Lucid with me... Thanks for the help
Odeida is everywhere. Mr. Kegs on Warner and Springdale(Huntington) gets a good Beachwood allotment and Alpine is very hit or miss. Seems like your only chance is if you happen to hit Hi Time on they day they get a case of whatever Alpine beer is around. You probably have a better chance of catching it on tap...check the taphunter app. Haven't seen phalanx.
best chance of getting all three is probably Whole Foods on PCH in LB. they always seem to have the Beachwood bottles that have been newly released, and they always have Modern Times. Alpine is a gamble but go by the Bruery then hit Mr. K's right before getting back on the freeway.
Hey Jesse. You got some time? BT's has the Pupil on right now. Will head over after work for a glass or two.
Phalanax hit total wines (there is one in hb) but it didnt look like a bunch. You can alway find the core beers on the shelf. Best bet for beachwood/alpine bottles is the source itself. if you are going to be in lb that shouldnt be too hard.
Do Beachwood bottles really sit on shelves for any amount of time at stores???? That surprises me, given that they bottle small amounts of like 1 or 2 beers every months. I would bet any IPA/DIPA they make is gone almost instantly... but I could see something like Udder Love or their Smoke Stout hang around a while because those styles in general aren't all the rage right now.
True. BWs beers other than IPA's will be on the shelves a bit longer. I have seen Melrose bottles 2 weeks later. But it is rare.
