Pumpkin beer recommendations?

I'm with the OP on #1: Crown Valley Imperial Pumpkin Smash. Not only is it my clear favorite pumpkin beer, but it's probably the best beer that Crown Valley makes.

A distant 2nd and 3rd are:
Southern Tier Warlock
Schlafly Pumpkin

I think stout is a great vehicle for pumpkin beers, and I'm a little surprised more brewers don't go that direction.

 

I still nicely settle in with several 4-packs of Weyerbacher Imperial Pumpkin for the season, drink them deliberately, and, other than Oktoberfests, I'm good for Fall.

 

WARLOCK!

Only other pumpkin ale that approaches it is Pumking.

 

I like Gourdgeous from Hangar 24, and T.R.E.A.T from Midnight Sun.

 

Have not given up yet, but i'm yet to try a pumpkin beer i like.

Horseheads Pumpkin Ale of course, and not just because it's local to me. It's a damn good beer! Warlock is up there as well.

 

You can't even put Warlock in the same paragraph as Good Gourd. They are in such a different class.

My favorite is whole hog pumpkin from Stevens point brewery.
I love pumpkin beer in theFALL, Not so much in the summer, but I get why they release it so soon.

I'm not really a fan of most pumpkin beers. There's usually just too much spice in them for me. I was pleasantly surprised when I had Pumking last year though. I thought it was very good and the spice was subdued. Maybe it was because I didn't drink it until about 6 months after I bought it.

I'm intrigued by the posters talking about mixing the pumpkin ale with a stout. That's something I'll have to try.

I also got an email just today that a local store just got the Crown Valley Imperial Pumpkin Smash in. I'll have to give that a try.

The Great Pumpkin - Elysian Brewing

 

Cottonwood Pumpkin is outstanding. Try to get your hands on Catawba's King Don's pumpkin.

 

Almanac Heirloom Pumpkin Barleywine is far and away my favorite.
I also like Uinta Oak Jacked pumpkin ale.

 

Really enjoyed Southern Tier Pumking in a growler pour last week, may be grabbing some more tomorrow. I enjoyed the smell and the taste, mainly because it didn't seem artificial to me.

 

Pumpkinator and Schlafly's get my vote!

 

I could not agree more; Pumpkin Ale in July??? The pumpkin ale comes out earlier every year; this needs to stop
