Wicked Weed announced another major expansion

The key words from the manifesto "into new states"!!!!

 

When they get bigger, it will be interesting to see who they choose to distribute their beers.

 

I have no idea how it will work or if it's something they're considering, but that big New Belgium distribution center (which will be in operation before their new brewery) will be located very close to Wicked Weed's new production brewery.

That being said, I feel like I saw something about them wanting to self-distribute past the 25,000-barrel mark. Currently, any NC brewery that produces more than that amount has to sign on with a distributor, however I think the NC Craft Brewers Guild is looking to change that.

 

Well, they're in for a huge fight, the #1 PAC in the state for distributing dollars to elected officials is the Beer/Wine distributers Association.

 

Yep. A litigious group crawling with lawyers. Hard to imagine a more powerful lobby.

 

Oh, no doubt. Check out all the money some of NC's distributors sent to Thom Tillis.

I would love to represent Wicked Weed in SC. The only other NC brewery we rep is Fullsteam, so there's room for more NC breweries in our book and their beer styles don't compete with beers we already represent. Maybe I should bring them some fresh Citrus Ninja when I'm in Asheville this weekend to show them some love

 

Don't think either Luke or Walt would turn down free beer, but if they do, would hate to have you drive it back to SC...

 

I think I'll do it next time I'm with just my man or my beer friends. I'm going up for a wedding and let's just say some people in our group are die hard bud lite drinkers and I'd hate for them to embarrass me...

 

I will never turn down a free beer to "test".
