Surly on Wisconsin shelves

No, just some Bitter Brewer and Hell.

 

Yes, just like when they dropped off Furious and Blakker earlier in the year.

 

Could be they are sending whatever extra beer they have our way. They've already locked up distribution, so it's no problem to send beer our way, plus it tests out the market a bit.

 

Omar is in town (talked to him at Sugar Maple last night), so he might have brought a shipment with him.
I think that was the same deal as MKE beer week.

They dropped off the same in various Iowa markets a few weeks ago (Bitter Brewer and Hell). It was a nice, "we're not forgetting about you guys" gesture!

 

Ridgeview in GB said they got the bitter. I wish I was up north to try some

 

They won't distribute to WI or IA until the new brewery is up and running. Wet was cut this year since they don't have the tank space. I am guessing they are comfortably keeping up with supplying the Twin Cities and Chicago now.

Found BB @ Woodman's in GB yesterday

 

Was still (6) 4-packs of Bitter Brewer on the shelves at Sun Prairie Woodmans as of Tuesday evening. Was really really tempted...

 

They will occasionally send cases of whatever extra beer they have to Wisconsin up until they have the ability to start full distribution. No telling what beers might come through.

Haven't been overly fond of any Surly so far. Indeed on the other hand...

 

I figured this was just the stuff they delivered the week before the 'Fest.
Once they start distributing, I'll be buying my share of Furious, Abrasive (if/when we get it) and Coffee Bender. Tasty stuff! Once in awhile I'll take a road-trip up through LaCrosse over into Winona to the Hy-Vee and grab some Surly and Ballast Point. Not a bad trip, especially during the fall color season.

 

Yeah- BP will be a nice pick up for Wisconsin later this year. I know there are mixed feelings about this on BA (too many choices) but I think they add to the beer climate wherever they go. Big Eye & Sculpin are awesome contrasting IPAs and Victory at Sea is one of my all-time favorites.

Surly had better send Abrasive. That and Blakkr are probably all that I'll regularly pick up from them.

 

I only have one request from Surly and that is please, please can cocoa bender and send some to WI.

 

Bitter Brewer is in Appleton and Green Bay . The place in Appleton has a Surly sign that says "For the first time in Wisconsin"
