I used to drink a lot of high end wine. Beer prices don't even make me blink.

If anything, it's an incredible deal. Drink up, before the breweries start realizing they can charge wine prices on their flagship beers. People will pay....

Just curious what Breweries are selling their beers that you are able to buy at around $7.99.

Yeah that plays into it, but (out here on the east coast) we have so few private stores (4 in the province), unable to buy from grocery stores, or gas stations or corner stores. So beer is either sold via the brewery or one of the stores or the NSLC which happens to be a crown corporation.

Our prices for beer, wine, and spirits are high, not because the Liquor Corporation is particularly inefficient, but rather because of the fat profit margins it has been instructed to earn. The drive to achieve these margins from the NSLC as boost the cost at bars, private stores and even in the breweries.

From what I've witnessed myself is that i can drive to Maine and pay 51% less for the same product than i can at home.

The fact of the matter is Beer is commodity. If a brewery makes beer and can charge $50 a bottle and sell out why shouldnt they. As several have stated before beer doesnt come close to touching wine prices. Enjoy it while you can, In a few years im sure top notch limited release beers will be selling for $200+ a bottle from the brewery. Never mind what they will fetch on the open market

I bought a $15 750 today which is the level I think of as "expensive". I'll easily throw down $8 or $9 for a bomber if its something I really want. $5 bombers are hard to come by and they usually seem like a bargain to me as far as bombers go. That being said, I saw a 4-pack for $21 today and it seemed outrageous, even though thats like buying a couple $10 bombers. I think its a pretty well-known thing that bombers in general are overpriced & usually inconvenient.
