The Locals HINTS AND HAULS THREAD

Thanks for showing us around! Although @kgncfl wasn't able to get us bodhi on draft, we ended up getting to try a bunch of good Ohio locals, visit some quite unique bars and get the famous pizza with **** sauce. Oh and he gave a care package that included a bodhi growler and several beers from hoppin frog, seventh son, etc. that we're very excited to try. Overall a very enjoyable night in Columbus.

I miss Pliny like crazy. Had it for the first time in SF back in October. At this point I had certainly had a large number of hoppy beers, but I wasn't crazy about freshness, and this was only a few months after I started ticking and chasing the Top 250 list.

Since then I've had dozens and dozens of APA/IPA/DIPAs that I'd never had before, including a pretty good chunk of the best ones out there. In that 10 months, I've only had PtE once on PtY day, which is a bit blurry.

All that to say, I wonder how PtE stands up to my completely Lupulin Shifted palette.....

 

@phuntasy and I had a great time traveling city to city on our beer road trip. We've made it back safely to NH and we're sharing a few growlers we've picked up along the way with some friends tonight.

Beer drinking highlights were: Pliny on draft at Monks, working the entire draft list at Tired Hands, Permasmile at Pizza Boy, tasting barrels with Brad at Jackie O's (!!!!!!), the diverse Columbus beer scene, Head Hunter at Fat Head's.

Shout outs to the great people we met along the way, some from this thread, some not:

@devilfluff - Great night at Tired Hands with your wife and tasting group buddies. Isn't this Uyawa Pog excellent?
@PA-Michigander - Lunch at Pizza Boy, bottles of Afternoon Delight and Permasmile shared among us and an insanely generous hookup of 10 or so bottles. How do you do it?
@PSU_Mike - Late night meetup at Primanti Brothers in Pittsburgh, hope you enjoyed the Sip of Sunshine! The Helltown growler was just opened and is tasting great.
@kgncfl - Tour guide around Columbus in search of Bodhi. Power outages, pumpkins/santas, **** sauce. Finally found a 64oz growler at the end of the night. Insanely generous.
@BeerisGOOD1183 - Regular Ohio trading partner meeting up for a drink at Fat Head's. Hope you enjoy that PBJ goodness. Probably a 4.2957 rating.

Great time in Columbus with @mklisz , and friends. We talked like we had known one another for years.

Will need to do a share around the brews you brought down here. I'll invite the whole Peanuts gang.

 

Sip of Sunshine was fantastic. An easy top 5 beer for me. Thank you so much for the present. I just wish I had a better Helltown beer for you guys or better stuff in general. Hop Frenzy is solid but they have much better beers. It was really nice to meet you and @phuntasy. It sounds like you guys had a really cool tour of PA and OH. Glad you enjoyed it!

 

Sounds like you really got a taste of PA! Sorry I wasn't able to make your list, next time for sure!
