Had Allagash-meh. Some unchecked bitterness. But I did truly enjoy HF Arthur. Fantastic beer! Kind of like a sour saison, really nice combo. Thanks for the tip on that one.

Not the same, but I found Prairie Ale to be somewhat reminiscent. A little funkier, but did remind me of it a bit

Boulevard has pretty wide distribution, like 30 states plus international. Duvel just bought them out so you should see more of them. Unlike most people I have never been overly enthusiastic about either of their saisons but I really love 80 Acre Hoppy Wheat, Harvest Dance Wheatwine, Dark Truth, Rye-on-Rye, and fresh BBQ.

We currently distribute to 25 states and Washington DC. You can also find a few of our beers in Norway, Sweden, and Finland.

Yeah I actually have a Swedish friend who loves your stuff and can get it at home (and he doesn't even live in Stockholm, he lives in a smaller town) .

As someone who is vastly inexperienced regarding Saisons, I must say: No love for Brooklyn Sorachi Ace yet?

Saison is a wide open style, with a great deal of variation--indeed celebrating the variation. Saison Dupont and Ommegang Hennepin are my (widely divergent) favorites.

Other breweries that make outstanding saisons I pretty much buy on sight (parens indicates ones I've had, not necessarily all they make): Stillwater (Cellar Door, Stateside, Existent), the Bruery (Saison Rue, Saison De Lente), Lost Abbey (Red Barn), Boulevard (Tank 7, Saison Brett), Upright (Five and Seven), and Perennial (Saison De Lis). Oh, and Brooklyn Sorachi Ace is not to be missed!

There's a concurrent thread at the moment regarding what the current "IPA" (i.e., hot, trendy beer) is. Not that anything, especially saison, is overtaking IPA... but saisons are hot enough that many breweries, even ones I'd never expect, like Stone, are putting at least one out. Which, with an expansive style like saison, can be an awful lot of fun to try.

Get it on tap. It's one of my favorites.

Boulevard Tank 7 and Stillwater Stateside. Off Colour Apex is also a nice new one I have found. Hard to find the dryness you need. I don't usually like Brett beers but liked Boulevard Saison Brett pretty well -- it would probably be even drier with a little more time.

The DuPont I had recently had to be old. I never really cared much for the style until I made the trip to Tired Hands and Hill Farmstead. Is there anything out there in this league available in a national distribution channel?

Very strange. I had it just last week - don't remember any particular bitterness, especially unchecked.

Oh yeah, and Arthur, of course, is just great!
