Those are my 2 favorite. I've got a keg of ST Pumking about to be tapped this weekend, for the upcoming football opening weekend!

Thanks! I wasn't going to stash the new purchases but was most curious about how the old Post Road's would taste. As another poster pointed out I already own them might as well at least try them. Cheers!

While I love pumpkin pie, I've only been trying pumpkin beer for the last couple of years. Started with the mass production beers (Shocktop, Blue Moon) available at the super markets and wasn't impressed. Those tend to be heavy on spice and low on pumpkin flavor.

Last year I came across Pumpking when I was shopping for my New Year's Eve party. They had them all marked down for closeout so I picked up a couple. I accidentally left them in the freezer too long and poured an icy brew in my glass. It was magical...the aroma, the flavor the ABV all come together in this beer. I went back to the store the next week to pick up some more. I've tried it at a warmer temperature but don't like it nearly as much as when it's icy. I'm anxiously awaiting ST Pumpking to arrive on my shelves in the Dallas area this year but, so far, all I've seen is Blue Moon and Shipyard Pumpkinhead. I bought both and give Blue Moon the edge....Shipyard is awful.

Normally, I'd agree...but this one tastes great slightly frozen. I've received nothing but positive feedback from the few that I've suggested this to (again, with this particular brew).

Alewerks Pumpkin -- a pumpkin ale that actually tastes like beer brewed with pumpkin, not just a carbonated pie spice concoction.

Agreed on Stegmaier. Is it available anywhere? Talked to beer reps and emailed the brewery last year and you would have thought I was trying to access CIA secret files. Best moderately priced pumpkin beer out there.

I can't find it anywhere in NYC. The only time I ever have it is when my cousin and his wife visit her parents in PA and bring it back with them; seems like right near the brewery itself is the only place they sell it.

I've only had the chance to try it once, and this was about 2 years ago, but I remember enjoying ST Pumking quite a bit. Hope to be able to try it again this fall around Thanksgiving.
