Carboy is overflowing! What do I do!

    If 74F was the ambient temp, you probably had ~80F in the wort. If so, expect high esters and possibly some fusels.

    Agree that OP can expect high esters. But as far as I know, yeast don't clean up esters to any great degree. There may be pathways (yeast related or otherwise), but if so I've never heard of them being significant in beer. I'd be interested to hear if there are though.

    74F was actually the reading from the strip thermometer on my fermenter.

    How big is your carboy? I use a 6.5 gal for 5 gal batches. Always seems to have enough head space for krausen.
