This. I would rather keep my 30-50 worth of beer to trade and just drop the $$, save the hassle.

iso: Prop for $50 from the comfort of my home on 11/29

Sounds like you got a sweet spot. I hope you brought a magazine or something.

But seriously, just remember that binnys isnt the only place that gets bcbs. Last year I waited in line at one of the suburban binnys and left empty handed. Then we called and visited like 3 whole foods, and 10 other liquor stores. At this point it was about 3pm and I had 1 bottle of reg, one bottle of coffee and one bomber of backyard. So we make our way to my buddies place in the wicker park area and all these places were talking to havent gotten their allotments yet. "we think were still going to get it at some point today" etc... At this point, every delivery truck in the city looks like it says goose island on it to me, but alas 'tis not. So we go back to my buddies apt and crack open a couple of our hard earned bottles and are ready to call it quits and relax. But my buddy decides to call up like foremost or whoever and, well, they just got mad bcbs. So we pound our beers and hit the streets at full speed. At this point it is like 430, but literally almost every store in that area had just gotten their delivs and I ended up with like $400 in bcbs. Sorry im a dick. But long story short... youll get it if you want it.

    I hear you @PDZ

My plan was to do the release at Binny's, get some lunch and then kind of just troll around the city shopping and looking for more.

Cool. Honestly the hunt is almost as awesome as the sweet nectar of bcbs, to me. Thats sounds like a solid plan, though. (minus the fact that itll prob be like 930 when you get out of binnys which is a bit early for lunch by IL standards ) At the same time I think you could skip binnys, (sorry Vav) sleep in, take youre wife out for some breakfast and then both start workin those phone calls to local stores. Just a thought!

Ahh but then it wouldn't be the true Black Friday experience, would it?

Where to pairs of socks is my only advice. Also bring a ziplock bag to pee in. I will not save your spot. Joking aside its worth the trip. We traded a Cthulhu for a Cherry Rye with a guy who drove in from NY. He and his buddies where pretty happy with the haul and said the trip was worth it.

I've sat outside for football games where the wind chill was like -25. Luckily we're veterans of the cold.

Heading out there as well. For those who went last year, what are the limits. I'm probably driving out there the day before and would love to get a share going with fellow BA's.

ISO: A living room floor to crash on in Chicago before waiting in line.
    FT: Cranberry Sauce and beer

I was told that last year they had a three item limit for each person in line. A bomber is an item, a four pack is an item. I guess that can vary based on how much they get.

Better than the $80 4-packs I saw at Jonna's in Farmington Hills, MI. No limit on bottles; just a $20 per bottle price.

I normally don't post specific names of bottle shops, but F that place. I hope they're still sitting on those bottles.

I skimmed the thread but didn't really see mention of it aside from the tale of going around to other stores on the day of, but earlier in the week there were plenty of mom and pop shops around that didn't wait until Friday to sell.

ZFG if I'm giving away the local secret, but if you're in town mid-week, you can probably find some around on top of any Friday pickups.

    Cheers
