Do you normally buy 6packs or cases?

I almost never buy cases and almost always 6packs, sometimes 12 packs if available, but cases are so much cheaper.

    Example. Victory Prima Pils
    6pack - $9.49 ($1.58 a bottle)
    Case - $32.99 ($8.25 6pack, or $1.37 per bottle)

    Spring and Summer - cases.
Fall and Winter - 4 or 6 packs

If I buy a case it is something I can cellar or when I have some friends over. I never buy cases of beer like IPAs.

I buy cases the way a normal person buys 6-packs. I like to drink great brew!

If I don't know what I'm getting (as in I've never had it before and it hasn't been recommended by a friend) I'll get a six pack or, if possible, a 22 oz bottle. If it's something I know and like, a case. Maybe two. My wife has the same tastes so a couple cases of Heady, Two Hearted Ale, Sierra Nevada Pale Ale or Dale's Pale Ale don't last long here.

Depends on whether or not it's something I can get regularly around where I live. 6 packs if I can, cases if I can't.

I buy cases or sixers of known quantities. I have made the mistake of buying sixer of new beers and leaving three sit in the fridge of months far too many times. Single are they way to go for ticks, load up on known quantities to fill the void.

I prefer variety (and as someone mentioned, freshness comes into play with styles like IPAs) so I stick to 4/6 pks and singles. Good to mix it up.

    1. Single bottles for review purposes
    2. 6 packs of new beer for review and curiosity
    3. 12 packs of something cheap for Saturday

Cases? Never. Unless it's Breckenridge Christmas Ale.

This is PA. Most of my beer purchases are by the case or on tap.

Pretty much never buy 6 packs or cases, mostly single bottles.

I prefer to buy larger format bottles such as bombers or 750's. Most of my favorite beer comes in bombers.

Saving $4 by buying a case has no bearing of whether I buy a case or not. I'll buy a case because I want a lot on hand for daily drinking like finestkind or dales or because it is hard to get or seasonal like heady or celebration.

If it's something that can sit and age well (Founders Backwoods Bastard, Founders Imperial Stout, North Coast Old Stock) I buy a case. And if it's BCBS....I dream of buying a case:wink:

Mostly sixers, with a couple of singles per week (of whatever size) to keep things interesting.

Come fall, though, and it will be cases for me. Southern Tier Harvest will be one, along with a few Oktoberfests. These are beers I just can't get enough of.

If I were closer to PA, though, my case purchases would be a little more often.

Same here, but I've been spoiled by State Line. I've bought more sixers and fewer singles since I've moved to PA and Wegman's has become my go-to.

There is only one bottle shop in my area that I can think of that does a discounted case price. Being in Kalamazoo they get tons of Two Hearted and sell it for $38 a case which is pretty good. Wish I could get a case of Prima Pils at the price OP can, that's one of my favorites.
