I am quite fond of Flying Monkeys and Muskoka. But are they the best?

Who's better and why? Any beer recommendations?

Bellwoods and Great Lakes are far and away the best in Ontario. Definitely the most consistent and interesting as a whole.

Not in any order, but I would tend to buy beers from these breweries before FM and Muskoka (nothing against these two, I really enjoy some of their line-up's): Bellwoods (probably my favorite), Beyond the Pale, Great Lakes, Sawdust City, Beau's (?), Cameron's, Amsterdam (?).

Wow, you both mentioned Bellwoods, and I'm sad to say I've never tried anything by them yet.
I think Great Lakes is decent. I like Amsterdam. I've only tried two beers by Sawdust - both were fantastic. But Beau's is highly overrated IMO. I hate how the LCBO, at least in my city, are so saturated with Beau's brews. I wasn't impressed with anything by them.

What beers should I seek out by Bellwoods?

Niagara Falls Brewing isn't. But there are a few local gems in the Niagara Area still. Taps Brewing Company, Silversmith, Oast House, Merchant Ale House, Brimstone etc. All within the Niagara region. Great little breweries/brewpubs.

The 5 Paddles. They have been pumping out great brews since opening!

Yep, I've heard good things about them as well. Unfortunately, if they're not in LCBO's or in the Niagara Region, chances are I haven't been able to try them. I need to get up to the GTA and sample some of the great places up there. I've conquered Niagara, time for the GTA.

Any volunteers to be a DD? Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?

Collective Arts have done nothing poorly so far and their expansion will most likely produce more greatness. Same goes for Beyond The Pale and their expansion.

I tried their Rhyme and Reason. It was great. Any word of when they'll move out of Nickel Brook and into their own brewery?

Most of the best beers I've had from Ontario were brewed by Bellwoods.

yep, these guys are doing a great job. i'll add in nicklebrook too since they brew some of my favourite seasonals. but bellwoods hands down is the most consistently good brewery that you can walk into and be happy with most anything they have in the store. i think innocente out of waterloo is going to start popping up on people's radar this year as well.

unfortunately, nearly all of the guys are listed are not in the lcbo, but that's canada for you. save your store bought beers for cross border trips to the states and plan trips to toronto on a monthly basis and you can stock up pretty nicely (at least that's my beer buying strategy at this point).

I haven't had the chance to try out Bellwoods, hint, hint, nudge, nudge.... anyone?

Here in Ottawa I find that Beyond the Pale is doing some great things, especially at the national capital beer fest!

Honestly, anything - I have not had a bad beer from them. IMHO they are by far the best brewery in ON and up there with my favorite Canadian breweries

Brewery only. I heard rumors that a store or two in Buffalo had the occasional bomber and that a store in San Francisco also had a couple bombers (a one time deal I assume), but that's it. Otherwise you gotta head to TO.

    Easily Bellwoods!
I'm in Niagara too, only issue is it can be a real frustrating drive to TO.
Other than that everything I've tried has been very good!

If your making the drive just watch the site or call to see if you can coordinate to go when they have either a new release or a larger variety of stock.
I've been more than once when they have had very little selection in the store.
