If I make it to Hill Farmstead between one and two on a Saturday will I be able to make one trip through the line? He asked hopefully...

As long as you get in line before 5pm you'll make it through the line once.

750's that is. Their own 2l growlers are swing top

The 750 are also swing top at HF. They won't fill German-style swing tops, the ones with the big metal handle, metal, or clear growlers.

I believe they are referring to "flip-top" growlers like below:

ncaude and bigstein88 might like the post but HF does not fill the standard German 2L swing growler.

Another question. Tried to ask on Winooski Beverage facebook but didn't get an answer. They get a shipment of Heady on Thursdays and split their allotment at 10 and 6. My question was if I go to the 6PM release and get their early will I still be able to get a case or do they sell the cases only at 10AM.

Quick question. Taking my wife to Waterbury on a Friday early next month. Probably getting into town around 5:30, a chance of finding 4 packs of HT at that hour on a Friday? Don't want to raise my wifes suspicions by seeming anxious.

Cases both times. Sometimes if the line is long enough the first 10-20 get cases and the rest get 1/2 cases.

you're absolutely right. for some crazy (lack of coffee in the morning) reason, I was thinking the smaller bottles ran foul of the "no 32oz" rule but that's obviously not true.

carry on....nothing the see here :flushed:

Thanks guys ! This thread has been incredibly helpful to me. Can't wait to see Vermont for the first time. Also very happy that my Kane growlers are exact matches for Hill Farmstead so that I can just use those.

Stagecoach had single Friday nights open due to a group staying Saturday and Sunday first weekend in Sept.

The guy at Stagecoach told me that if there was a room open for just Friday by the Wednesday before (in October) I can stay for just one night. However, I didn't want to risk it, so I booked an AirBNB that's like a 7 minute drive from Prohibition Pig, etc.

Shame. I was surprised when he told me I could just get a Friday. We some get some BA's together and open a taxi company in Waterbury- i'm telling ya.

Thanks to everyone who suggested bringing a flash light. Very useful. There are sidewalks and street lights but there was a stretch of a few hundred feet where the lights weren't working. It was really dark and there are cracks and little craters everywhere, super easy to twist an ankle.

The last 150 feet up the hotel driveway is a killer. I can only imagine what that little stretch of road is like in the winter, people must slide into SR 100 all the time. Yikes!

Well, I liked the post as it was correct. Now yours is too, which is great. With all the different growlers out there I think it is very misleading to say "they don't fill swing tops" because, in fact, they do, just not certain kinds.
