Hello, I will be in Ghent for 2 nights in mid September. I have mapped out the popular beer bars, such as Trappistenhuis & Waterhuis, but I was wondering if anyone has ideas on a couple of hidden gems that I may be overlooking. I am looking for a place(s) with a good list of East Flanders regional beers & not just the usual Belgium beers I can get stateside. Also any good beer/restaurant recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Lastly, I will be in Delft NL for 2 days, so any of the same information listed above regarding Dutch beers/bars would also be helpful. Thank you in advance for any tips and insight!! Cheers
For Delft. Beershop Flink Gegist. Bars, 't Klooster, Doerak, Publicus. Rotterdam is 15ish minutes by Train. Stop by Plan B Rotterdam for an extensive beer collection (shop) and then stop at Kaapse Brouwers for an awesome place to get a drink with extensive taplist. Could also stop at Boudewijn if you stop in Rotterdam, small selection but mostly local options on tap.
Also, which days in Delft? There are a few Beer Fest in the area. Namely the 6th and the end of the Month is Borefts.
Thanks for the ideas on Delft, I wasn't sure if anyone would have input on that city. I will definitely try to hop the train to Rotterdam. I will be in Delft Sept 15-17, so I may not be around for the fests, bummer...
You are Welcome. Delft is literally between Den Haag (The Hague) and Rotterdam. Both are worth checking out. Especially Scheveningen for the beach. Even if it is a tad cold for that now. While in Ghent, Don't forget about Hopduvel. Also, you are 40 minutes by train to Antwerp and Brugge. And both cities have amazing places to get beer
