Holy shit they were sooooo bad that time. NEVER AGAIN. I almost lost my appetite for beer

 

Same, killed the mood for what was one of the most epic bottle shares I have had the pleasure of attending. This time it will be leftover Mellow Mushroom pizza all the way!

 

I'm gonna take one for the team and go get Bojangles

 

Fingers crossed we get a time announcement tomorrow, or early next week. We're getting late into August for them to thrust an early September release on us.

Biscuits will be had on the sidewalk though, rest assured. I plan on bringing some legit bottles this year. Can't wait to see everyone. If Kenny Spade and @PotentPotables make it we should have one hell of a table.

 

Thinking about coming down from DC depending on the date.

 

If I'm there, it will be epic regardless. Spade is just icing on the cake.

 

Surprised to hear this. Now granted I haven't been to a Foothills release in a couple years, but the biscuits were always awesome and baked fresh.

 

2-3 years ago I remembered them being a lot better as well.. last release my friend Patrick bought the table a huge order and we couldn't finish them, and that's pretty bad considering how drunk and hungry we were haha.

 

So what sort of bottles are brought? I plan to show up some time in the wee hours SAT AM.

I went to the reg-SC release in FEB but I just showed up for lunch the next day and picked up some bottles. I have a feeling these will sell out much quicker.

 

Per Fbook they have set a date and will release that date on Monday.

The Facebook post actually reads:

"Finally! We think we have a date set for the release of Bourbon Barrel Sexual Chocolate. We'll confirm on Monday. Promise."

Could be some things still in the air I suppose.

 

I'll be there regardless, unless some wacky details or restrictions are announced. I'll be coming from Raleigh if anybody wants a ride, and I may do the share the night before.

 

Your first time?

 

Not that this would happen but it'd be nice if everyone took a deep breath and just came out at a reasonable hour sat morning. The best bottles don't come out till everyone makes it inside in the morning anyways. I've done the 8pm-lunch the next day thing a few times and it's really not worth it.. The back of the house share has turned into a way for local college age guys and gals to stop in for a free buzz. I'm a gracious bottle sharer but I don't appreciate people fighting over tasters of my bottles just to throw em back like a shot and walk away. I'll be lining up early, since I anticipate a big crowd but plan on being a little more sober come 1pm than in years past. To each their own though

 

Really looking forward to this - it will be my first release and bottle share! Looking forward to meeting a few other BAs - what beer should I bring for the share?

 

I agree to a point; I live walking distance so I get there nice and early and enjoy the show. It will be warm and nice out. If everyone just calms the fu** down, shares good beers and is pleasant, there shouldn't be any issues.

Bring what you enjoy folks, Friday usually is lesser/easier to get beers; most people save their 'rars' for their tasting group on Sat.

Oh, HUGE reminder to people that haven't been to this release; no glass in line at night; the cops will be up and down all night making sure everyone is 'safe and sane' and open container laws are taken fairly seriously by the Winston police.

Reminder Two: If your girlfriend passed out in line during the bracelet handout and doesn't get a number, don't let her or everyone else make a scene. It's uncomfortable and you will get kicked out.
