    so no 2XIPA...

I had this a few years ago when I was back in VA for a visit and can't remember if I liked it or not. Have a vague feeling that I didn't, to my surprise at the time. But I may be thinking about a Weyerbacher beer that I also had around the same time. Was hoping to try it again.

I may try warlock, but i'm not going to spend money on pumking again. had that last year in TN and was not a big fan, tasted like pie crust and spice, with no pumpkin....

Now, if we could only get Schlafly Pumpkin Ale here... that is freaking delicious...

Agree with you there. That stuff tastes like pumpkin pie in a glass.

And that article also confirms Parker Payless has some...

Weird that they would just send us those two...but I'm not complaining as I enjoy them both.
I assume it's probably some kind of market test so they don't end up like O'Fallon did in the mid 2000's.

i think it's showing up just about everywhere right now. i hit 3 different stores this morning and all had it. a buddy found it down in co. springs. seems like we got a pretty decent amount. shouldn't be too hard to track down.

I was there around 4ish. But I was grilling Chris on the next CBC beer, which sounds fantastic, and cheaper than #1.

Warlock tastez like pumking. If you didnt like one, you probably wont like the other. Warlock is pretty weak. I cant wait for dark o the moon to drop. Its a much better pumpkin stout imho.

XXX Warlock was great when I first got it at the brewery when it first was released. Cracked one again back in March and it's still great. Glad I still have a few bottles left.

Having a Pumpking tonight, about enough already for the year. Although I might blend this with our Pure Imagination oatmeal stout. Great beer for blending!

Yeah, I was wishing I had some double barrel ale (or something similar) to blend it with. I think about 4 parts DBA to 1 part Pumpking should tame those spices. Damn, you pretty much need to chug that stuff while it's cold to get it down. I liked my first few swallows, but then I lingered a while, and it was completely undrinkable once it warmed up. Down the drain it went. Three and a half hours later, and my wife is still trying to choke down her half. She's a trooper, lol.

Another blunder of Elite Brands... our sales rep. "missed" the email regarding Southern Tier and the pre-order. No information on further releases obviously.

After years of buying pumpkin beers, I'm honestly over them...however there are a handful of full-on elite ones I still love and Southern Tier makes two of 'em. If you've never had Pumking or Warlock, IMO the only others that can keep up are Schlafly, Uinta Oak Jacked, and (locally) Ghoul Fuel.
I grabbed some bottles last night and unless ST has totally changed them I'll probably go back for more before the season is out.

Which one are you guys trying first? Which one is the better overall beer?
