Just read in the Belgian newspaper that westvleteren has to put a label on the botlles starting at beginning of 2015 Reason for this is that there is not enough information on the cap My source http://www.standaard.be/cnt/dmf20140822_01229238
Thank God! I've been wanting to make sure no made-in-China melamine or whatnot in there! But seriously one has to wonder if it raises the prospect of further (occasional?) store sales? Well spotted, beerpirates
Well if they use the prices that Bierkoning (don't tell me they are not expensive) in Amsterdam using € 15/16 for 1 bottle they can build a new church and brewery in no time ...was there yesterday Was in Madrid a month ago and the price there was €10 a bottle .... how closer they are how more expensive i think ... Still have 2 full crates in my cellar anyone intrested for a bottle of €15 ???? if i sell them both i can go on vacation again
I will be in Madrid next week. Do you mind sharing which shop? Also, do you know if Cantillon & 3F bottles are available readily in Spain? Appreciate any help.
check out http://www.beeradvocate.com/community/threads/where-to-go-when-i-am-in-madrid.150901/ there is even a brewery in the center
For me this is the most important part of the article. The reason they are being forced to add labels is due to third party sales in stores across Europe. As the article points out bottles will end up on the shelves of stores in Brugge and Brussels. Hopefully they can work out a solution.
