    It's a good beer/stout when you don't want to start down that high ABV road. It's certainly not like their bomber of RIS in any way. But I enjoyed my sixer over two weeks.

    I was told yesterday it wouldn't start showing up in Indiana for another 2 weeks. I wanted to try it, but it needs to hurry up and get here before Breakfast Stout arrives.

    This one was a bland let down. Too bad there's 5 left in the six pack!

    I've split two packs with friends, interesting beer I suppose...very forward roasted/coffee/lactose flavor up front, but then completely dies towards the end with a thin mouthfeel going down and not much aftertaste. Definitely a good option if one is not looking to get too hammered though, it might not beat most stouts but it definitely beats most beers that are 4.2%.

    What did all you guys expect with a 4.2% stout? Buy a bigger imperial stout if you want the mouthfeel and whatnot. You're all crazy.

    "Milk / Sweet Stouts are basically stouts that have a larger amount of residual dextrins and unfermented sugars that give the brew more body and a sweetness that counters the roasted character. Milk Stouts are very similar to Sweet Stouts, but brewers add unfermentable sugars, usually lactose, to the brew kettle to add body and some sweetness."

    more body

    more body

    Just f*&king with you Mr. nipples heh

    It is supposed to be a session brew, gotcha. I give them credit for trying in that regard. Who wouldn't want a thick syrupy stout with less alcohol and calories? Ok. Ok. This is supposed to be a milk-stout... However it is lacking most of the taste features of a milk-stout. Mine had little to no coffee present. Does that mean they did a good job or a bad job? It's labeled a coffee milk stout but by BA's own definition above "That give the brew more body and a sweetness that counters the roasted character." IDK?

    Over all I wasn't impressed. Stone has a lot of fan-boys. I'm not ripping on them at all; they do make some tasty beers. I just think they phone it in from time to time and there are people who will sing their praises regardless.

    I understand what they were going for here but it didn't work for me.

    Lets hope this post doesn't get me banned again

    Point taken for sure, but I still think it missed the mark even for what it is. My bottles have little coffee taste, are very bitter and a metallic finish. I love a lot of what Stone does. RuinTen was an unbelievably good, fresh Imperial IPA on tap and the Imperial Stout and variants are hands down head of class and a great value. I think the fact that their Imperial Stout is so good, I expected a tad more.

    Tried it last night. Good, not great. Would've liked a more pronounced coffee flavor. Would be better at $9.99/6er instead of $12+. But, that's just my opinion.

    Mine had lots of coffee. Maybe batch to batch was inconsistent.

    Batches = Consistent.

    People = All over the map. Highly variable. Individuals. Circumstances vary. Yet we're all 99.9999% genetically all the same. Weird.

    I was eagerly awaiting this beer, and when I finally saw it I was tempted to buy a six pack (knowing I would love it), glad I decided to buy a single and try it. I'd be sitting here with 5 bottles looking for a new home.
