For every over hyped beer on here where people are asking for an arm and a leg there are probably 5 local beers that no one has heard of that are just as good or better. People want what they can't have hence tons of interest in these kind of trades. Dont buy into the hype and find a local brewery that you can walk into and drink as much great stuff as you want.

Its true, TG is the only brewery in a remote location that produces a limited quantity of their beers.

Why, just because you were able to get you trade done? Good for you. What lonewolfcry said still applies, all you fools who want this beer are going to downplay it's value but still think what you're offering is somehow superior and demands more than what it's worth. Honestly I'm surprised you got your trade done,.

why are you surprised? I offered a combination of 2 growlers from Hill Farmstead and Tree House in exchange for 2 bottles of King Sue, and we wound up expanding so I could get 1 bottle each of SOSUS and Naughty 90. Do YOU have any clue what Hill Farmstead commands? It certainly doesn't appear as though you do.

Why you feel the need to belittle others, or lump me (in this case) as a "fool," I'm not sure.

Please clarify for me how I "downplayed" its value. Better yet, explain why "fools like you" aren't just puffing up its value.

Really? Its an DIPA (that is fantastic no doubt) that has been released before and now released to distro and is going to be rereleased on many occasions going forward and thus will be easier to get. It should trade w other similar released outstanding beers (and those from HF are perfect examples of this). The notion that the location of the brewery in Decorah (or Vermont for that matter) should add toward the trade value is petty and silly. And trust me I am as big of a TG homer as it gets as I have know and been friends with Clark for almost 15 years and he would likely agree ur notion is "foolish".

I've traded with Jim (lonewolfcry), he's a good guy. Not sure why he felt the need to lay into me like that, but hey, maybe he's having a bad day. I mean, his latest hauls post showed that he only had 3 Assassins and 8 King Sue, so it hasn't been a good week.

And I'm guessing all 8 King Sue's are for personal consumption.

Supply and demand 101, I guess $4$ or something close to reasonable just got a kick in the ass. Remote doesn't really figure, nor does driving time . I trade what I want for what I'd like , but I don't calculate in the incidentals.

I brought this up in another thread, you guys are cute referring to places down there as "remote."

All the folks that invoke supply and demand do know that much of economic theory presupposes a rational agent, right? And a large part of these threads are actually addressing that very question - are these trades rational or are they insane? Being versed in economics, surely you've heard of bubbles where cost diverges from the value of the underlying asset. No one in a bubble says "I'm selling this for way more that its worth but due to irrational exuberence its what the market will yield." Not saying that's the case here but highlighting how shallow the "its supply and demand dummy" argument is.
