Sadly, I won't be able to make it. Maybe someone can pick me up a bottle and I'll pay them/trade something. Hope everyone has a great time!

For someone that hasn't gone to a big beer release like this, could someone lay it out a bit better? If we get there early on Saturday (like 4am or something) does that translate to a better spot in line? Since wristbands (or whatever method) is given out at 8am, I'm struggling to figure it out a bit. Only been to small releases like Wicked Weed's where you just kind of show up and get a ticket and there's been no need to show up early so trying to figure it out  If we show up Friday night, do people end up spending the night out there?

    Typically...
Foothills opens the back around 7pm on Friday. People bring beers, there are light snacks and you can get Foothills stuff on draft for cash.

This goes on til they close (so about 2am). Stumble your drunk ass to the back of the line and take a small nap or chat with your neighbor about the awesome whalez you are going to get with your bottles.

Police will go up and down the line all night making sure you don't cause a ruckus.

6-7am, sleepy Foothills employees will hand out numbered bands (bring your ID!)

Around 8am they will open, you find a seat or stand around looking goofy and you can purchase biscuits. (Eww)

Start drinking again and bring your epic whalez you wish to share and share alike.

10am they sell bottles buy groups of numbers (1-50, etc).

Continue drinking and get your DD to take you home at some point late in the evening.

Sunday... Allow your liver to rest, he's earned it.

That works, those dry ass biscuits are horrible. You really do need a beer to choke them down.

I'm not sure the cities policy on it, but at 4Elfs party for Dark Horse I cooked bacon in line, I would think that would go over well here right?

Cops are tough, don't think an open flame would work, but.... Scrambled eggs and bacon would be killer good. I'm bringing food, I was unprepared last year.

To your second question, I think same place as last week, but I'll post a message in the other thread and ask. We can touch base on a possible trip then and round up some more folks, too.

You'd better be there early this year. Line is going to hit that 300 mark by 4am. If I recall correctly it was over 200 by 4am last year and this year there is more hype, hype, hype. I think that plus all the line jumping that happened last year if you get there much later you risk getting shut out.

They do not like open flames. Couple of guys in front of me tried it a few years ago and the cops were not too pleased.

I'm hoping to show up on Friday night! I'll be leaving straight from work and hitting the road. I think it's about a 4hr ride. @Beeranator - You going?

Couple questions from a first timer. The fiance and I will likely be heading over for the release and would like to come over Friday night and get a hotel to prevent having to board the dog. Are you allowed to leave the brewery after getting your wristband and come back closer to 10 when it's time to buy? I'd hate to leave the dog in the hotel for that long. Also, is it cash only at the release?
