I was told these are 'easy to come by' and don't really bring any trade value.
    True or false?
Compared to say ba fw beers. Which I also get in Texas

Easy to come by if you live in/close to Austin. Snorkel 3 limit per day, Provenance 3 and 6 limit per day depending on which one and Uberkind 2 per day.

Based on other threads I've seen those beers would be much more valuable if they were mine because I would have to drive 8 hrs round trip to get them. Someone living in Austin couldn't get near what I could for them because they would only have to drive an hour round trip. Including drive time, gas, etc I could probably get a Rare for each one. Someone in Austin could probably get other limited shelf beers.

As far as trade value...I honestly haven't seen to many ISO's for any of them so I would assume not much.

You should probably move to Vermont.
    Edit - or Belgium.

New to trading and all...but I'm guessing this is sarcasm as I don't see how far an individual chooses to drive for a brew changes the value of it.

Yeah bud, I was being completely sarcastic and you have the right attitude when you say "I don't see how far an individual chooses to drive for a brew changes the value of it". Just please keep that thought process because many people will tell you otherwise.

In all seriousness those beers may trade for other somewhat limited shelf beers but probably not much. I usually drink them myself or send 'em as extras. Since you're new to trading feel free to pm me with any questions and I'll do my best to help you out.

To clarify, I'm an hour and a half from the brewery. Looking to trade for fw ba beers in cali. Beers we get in tx. Beers I have ...but tough to get multiples of. I was thinking $4$ would be fair is all.

That's a tough one for me to judge since I haven't traded any of them or seen many ISO's/FT. Perhaps someone else who has traded them will chime in otherwise the only way to find out is post an ISO. Sorry I'm not much help but I really don't have an answer for ya on this one.

Another thing to consider is when the new batches of Parabola and Sucaba come out. I believe they sit on the shelves for awhile in some parts of the country so you may have better luck when their released this year

I already did a few similar trades $4$.
You helped. $4$ isn't a huge streatch on my part. If it was, you woulda already said I was way off.

Also getting huna, vet speedway and fyodors classic in another deal. Huna isn't $4$ but I expected that. The others were. So I didn't think fw was a stretch.

The deal in question wasn't far off.... But it was the comment " JK is available to anyone at the brewery, and my brews are rare" threw me off a bit

OP, to answer your question, I have traded for A LOT, and I do mean a lot, of Jester King releases over the past few months, and while I suppose I'm lucky in that I know folks in/around the Austin area, they always trade $4$ with me. With the caveat of course that I'm not just sending garbage in return (I don't).

I'd say Aurelian, MvB, CdT are the only 3 that trade over their pricetag.

I have traded each of the Jester King beers for all the out of state beer that I want $4$ (even some FW). I live 4 hours away from JK and haven't been able to break into the boy's club that is the DFW JK mule train. As @cfh64 has counseled me (and I have found to be true) there are folks out there who will trade you great beer simply because they want what you have, regardless of "beer prestige."

Don't feel left out, I'm def not part of any mule train either but whenever I go back down there (probably months away) I'll let ya know.

You should have no problem getting any of the FW beers mentioned $4$. Like @cfh64 said, when released, those beers can sit for a bit (you just have to know where to look). I have traded them for JK beers before and totally would again. Unfortunately Im all tapped out on trading funds :slight_frown:

I would be wary of someone who tells you their beers are "rare" and yours are not. JK beers are brewery only, and typically limited to 2 or 3 per, so probably just as "rare" as Parabola, Sucaba, etc.

Last year when Parabola came out, I walked into my local HEB and bought 9 bottles off the shelf. so "rarity" is often a relative issue. I could have had as much Sucaba and DDBA as I wanted too.

Trade with people who want what you have, and can send what you want. If you're dealing with someone who wants to start arguing "rarity" over what are mostly shelf beers, I'd walk away.

OP, where are you? I'm guessing San Antonio based on you saying 1.5 hours away. Because I would gladly trade some Parabola for some Uberkind.

They bring about $12-14 in trade value... No more, no less. FSW is awesome, but they are shelf turds.

    My personal rules for trading...

Trade for something that you want to drink more than what you have. Never trade over/under $4$. I don't care how .rar your beer or the other party's beer is claimed to be. No beer tastes as good as the hype. Develop relationships and be generous with people you do trade with.....and pack your shit tight. Lol
