I have no issues trading with people I have disagreed with on the forums. I'm not a big fan of the shunning someone who you disagree with, in life or on BA. Eventually you will be left with no friends. Just seems a bit immature to me. People I would consider not trading with would be:

-advocates for marking a package less than it's actual weight (that's called stealing people), if you can't afford trading don't do it
-someone who gets extremely defensive and resorts to name calling on the forums
-someone who is condescending or a dick in a majority of their posts
    -the Dutch
-and people who are intolerant of other peoples culture

For a while, I insisted on having other people ship first, and only trading with those who felt the same. My wallet was the only winner...

sorry for the pessimism, but i'd guess that he was just trying to jack up the value of his beer. he saw that ebay puts BT and DL closer, so he mentioned ebay, and all the rest was just flimsy justification.

Failure to give additional contact info makes it look like you're trying to hide something, even though you have 124 trades and have been on here since 2008. There are other reasons as well. Such as the infamous BA crash recently. If you have other contact info, you can proceed with your trades even though the site is down.

This is one of my biggest pet peeves, and I've since started calling off trades if someone won't give me their first name in the first couple responses during trade negotiations. I always sign at least the first BM with my name, and many of them afterwards as well.

I can't agree with this more. No phone number and no personal email = no trade from me. Not my loss, cuz I really don't care to seal every deal I attempt to make here on BA.

Well i guess I dont really need to sign my name as it is my BA name as well. Go figure. LOL

This guy speaks the truth, just trying to ascertain why everyone wants to trade a BT for a CBS but not a single taker for a CR... Just frustrating I suppose but I'm fairly certian CBEER88 does not speak for even 9% of people much less 90%. In any case if anyone wants to trade hit me up, I'm all about getting rid of one btl CBS and 1 DL'12 and maybe a BA Congac De Muerte...But I do not want to be bent over!

Just because I joined this site a month ago doesnt mean I havent been reading it since inception (which I have) and ive been buying Bourbon County Stout since the first vintage, which is before most of you "pro traders have been above the legal age...LOL now I feel old :slight_frown:

If I ask for a full name, phone # or email address and the other person won't give it out, trade is dead. If other trader insists upon using ebay as some sort of base for "valuation" of what he's got, trade is dead.

no matter how old you are, you're either 1) trying to raise the value of your beers so you can rip people off, or 2) foolishly arguing about value rather than just realizing that if a trade's not going to happen, it's not going to happen.

no one cares that you think california beers are less valuable than other people do. if you're as old as you say, have the maturity to understand this.
