Ahhh so this is what Winston from Balcones was talking about. Can't wait! I wonder if its a TX ONLY release?

I was just drinking a bottle of Luchedor En Fuego and saying to myself..."damn some whiskey barrel Bomb would kick arse!" Thank you beer Gods!

They replied to that facebook post, 10 whisky barrels were used. No idea what that translates to in bottles, but likely was marked for Texas only due to partnering with Balcones and a small batch size.

    10 barrels? 20 kegs. 1984 ounces in a keg.

    39680 ounces made.

    3306 bottles in theory.

Now, depends on the split between bottles and kegs. But, I claim at least 6 of the bottles.

I believe a standard whiskey barrel is 53 gallons. Of course they don't have to be that size.

Balcones makes several different whiskeys, seems like a legitimate question to me.

How likely are you to taste the difference between 2 different Balcones whiskey barrels such as single malt or baby blue? I could see if it were whiskey vs rum barrels.

Then why does everyone have Pappy envy? Just use Jim Beam barrels.

Shit...I was converting barrels to kegs based off of my beer knowledge.

if that is the case (which I hope it is)...then:

    10 barrels = 530 gallons

    1 gallon = 128 ounces

    530 gallons = 67840 ounces

    5653 bottles of 12oz bottles.

    Minus any keg fills.

    So...one keg and 400 bottles?

    No way.
