KBS was $19/4-pack at the brewery, which is $114 a case, didn't see it any lower around here. It was 2 pack limit, ticket only, unless you got lucky on a day they put it out at random.

You're really lucky to be able to do that.. :slight_frown: We only get a few cases of it, and you're lucky to get a full 4-pack. Most stores just sell singles with a 1-2 limit.

Why is a four pack better than a six pack?

Scroll to the bottom of the page, to the 'Limited' tier. This isn't a secret.

Right. $88/case was distributor cost, meaning markup would be anywhere from 20-30% above that.

Yes, those batches of beer are limited, it doesn't mean they are all priced the same. If Harvest Ale(11.99-12.99/4pack last year) is priced the same as KBS I would be floored.

I've been operating off an email explaining Founders' new tiered pricing structure, but I can't find the email, and although the markup for KBS and Devil Dancer was minimal between last year and this year ($84.95 to $88) the increase in cost for Harvest would be over 100% ($42.50 to $88) and similar for Backwoods Bastard ($51 to $88). I therefore retract my belief that they'll price these two equally to the other limited releases. Unless they've got very large balls.

It's not. I was joking about how it's a bitch to find when it comes out. Hits stores once and then disappears, at least it seemed to last year around Boston.

Definitley looking forward to Harvest and BB. I had last years BB about a week ago and it is aging beautifully. I'm certainly interested in Dark Penance. Curious to how limited it will be in my area of VA.

Don't worry, none of us took u seriously that it'd be the same price/availability as KBS.
    Cheers!
