Hey, I will be flying out to LA tomorrow morning and I will be staying in Woodland Hills for a couple days, but I plan to explore around the area a bit as such as Griffin Park and Malibu. Are there any stores I should check out in Woodland Hills or other towns nearby? I'm open to vising a brewery as well. I sure hope wOOtstout 2.0 will be still available to be purchased! Also, are there any beers I should buy to bring back to Chicago? I will be flying SouthWest, free check-in bags! Hope to hear from you guys soon!
Green Jug in West Hills would be a good spot for you to stop. They generally have a pretty good selection. Valley Beverage Co in Sherman Oaks or Vendome Toluca Lake/Studio City are good as well.
If you're going to Griffith Park there is a decent shop 2 miles away. Bills Liqor in atwater village 3150 Glendale Blvd Los Angeles, CA 90039 They are not a giant store but they have a great selection. Any way you can bring by some Zombie dust for a trade? I've got a woot stout 2.0 or Noble tongue tickles.
I know a store in the valley that still had a case of wootstout as of 4-5 days ago. Message me and I can give you the details.
I can't speak on LA, but wOOTstout 2.0 is readily available almost everywhere in San Diego. I've even seen it at basic gas stations. I got to imagine you won't have much trouble finding it in LA.
Yeah, is there any location that doesn't have w00t 2.0 left? I know a bunch of people tried to horde the first smaller allocations, but I've seen this everywhere since.
Valley Beverage Company is a must if you're staying in Woodland Hills Laurel Tavern nearby has a decent tap list and good food. You could check out Golden Road and Highland Park Brewing on the east side, or go all in and head down to Torrance / Long Beach for an epic Brewery tour (Smog City, Monkish, Strand, Beachwood).
Flask gets the pick of the litter from Valley Bev Co. Boneyard Bistro, Local Peasant, Tuning Fork (live music) deserve a shout for beers/food
Hey man, Zombie Dust is always always hard to find. I tried to after them last weekend and I had no luck. Thanks for the tip!
If you end up going north on 101, check out Ladyface Ale Companie in Agoura and a little farther is Institution in Camarillo. Both spots are brewing great beer!
