I cut actually drank very little last year, a few oz of this a little of that, I bet I didn't consume more than 12 oz all told in line, but by 10 I was beat, but did have a Basc on tap. I thought the BT barrels were quite good, a different Bourbon for sure, but BT is a great bourbon in and by itself, I like it a little rough around the edges.

Are dogs allowed at the event? I've never been to the brewery so not sure if its feasible (or sensible)

If you are looking to get HDR, check with places around there Friday evening, they notoriously sell out of HDR pretty quick these days even with the two 4-pack limit at NoDa.

Salude down the street usually has it in without too much of a limit.

I was just at the TW near Concord on Saturday and they had a case limit. They had them hidden in the cooler room. I almost missed them!

Can you give me an example of some of the things people bring, man? I don't want to be a chump showing up with a 22 of something weak.

I'll be there! Dunno that I'll be going in as hard bottle sharing (as I'll be headed back to Raleigh to close at Tasty Beverage on Saturday evening), but I'll at least get myself some bottles to take back to raleigh. Looking forward to seeing the few folks I know, and meeting a few more!

Sounds like I'll do some drinking friday, then cool out while in line, and then go hard on Saturday when the whales come out.

Do they usually have 2013 BA sexual on tap or bottles? Be curious to do some side by side.

Basically for the blind bif it's just a 22 of something not available in NC, last year I threw in an abyss an then I know someone did darkness, basically anything you would be excited to receive. There are a lot of VA guys comin down so I would check seek a brew for both states. Now if it happens to be a BA brewery only from NC I'd say that's fair game. As far as bottle share in the parking lot/ morning of I'm thinking I'll have melange 9, Grey Monday, forgotten island, and about 6 others I will leave a mystery. Some 3 floyds and night shift an some other fun time brews. What is opened and when it will all depend on how the group is feeling.

This is my first time wanted to get an opinion if this sounded good.
For the bottle sare, Jai Alai, Brooklyn Black Ops, Bomb!, and 2013 BCBS. I don't have a good out of area stout for the BIF, would a 2013 Event Horizon be good?

I'm planning on bringing some fun stuff from outside distro to open up - W00t 2.0, JK Nocturn, Night Shift Supernova, a 2010 Eclipse or two, BA Doris, Millonario...maybe a Casey saison or Backacre.

For a first-timer, who may end up having to come alone (friends are wavering), what's the best plan as far as opening bottles? Bring a few in on Friday night, and save the best for Saturday? Are people cool about staking your place in line outside and then moving around to share some pours?

From my experience, bring a few in Friday night, enjoy the appetizers and good company, wait out in line overnight, and start back up again inside on Saturday AM after wristbands have been handed out.

While it was "alluded" that the Winston police may look the other way if people share bottles outside in line, they were fairly strict about not allowing it at the last release, so it's a good time to sober up before bottles go on for sale.
