Unfortunately terrapin beers are always mediocre at best. Sad to say because they aren in my hometown but it's true. Not worth seeking out.

If anyone has a bottle or two of this to trade, let me know. Unfortunately, we do not receive this beer up here in PA, and regardless of what some of the posters have said regarding its taste, I still would like to try it. Can offer up some fresh Head Hunter, Flower Power, or a Sucaba for this.

    Thanks.

Busy Bee had it on for Raleigh Beer Week. Pretty sure it would have kicked by now.

FYI - Upstate S.C. folks....TW in Greenville has it available now, and you can order one online for pickup. Limit 1 per person it looks like.

Got a second taste of this over the weekend and was as disappointed as I was with the first.....this beer had so much potential.

Word from a Terrapin guy up here, the Florida distributors who let it go early won't see anything else from them in the special release category for the remainder of the year. They were specifically told to hold it until September 1st. I don't care either way, just sucks to see people buying cases of it last week who are out of State and my store, supposedly in the top tier of our area, doesn't even get any. Already have people calling and shitting on us for not having it.

It really was a tough day for Atlanta where this one was concerned. Practically all of the top stores in the city were limited to two cases each. And considering Atlanta's position as one of Terrapin's top markets--if not the top market--demand truly outstripped supply. A lot of people went away empty-handed.

After three releases that have happened this way, the anger is becoming more noticeable. I'm not sure that it should all be directed at Terrapin for not "taking care of the home market" (which is really Athens anyway). But Terrapin's muted response isn't doing them any favors, either.

I asked about the Pumpkin Pie Porter at one of the top beer outlets in Savannah yesterday. They had not even heard of it. Interestingly enough, I was also told I was the first to ask.

My local store was supposed to get a case, but given that the big in town stores only got 2, I am not holding my breath.

Its September...so not much of the year left...and Terrapin special release beers are super hit or miss (this one being a miss)...I wouldn't really call that a punishment lol

I thought CR Wake and Bake was pretty tasty last year. If it's counterpart, to be released in Decemeber, was equally as good and wasn't available because local distribution goofed that would be punishment enough for me.

I am not that bummed about missing this one. I am sure there will be plenty of chances to drink it on draft or get growlers filled in Athens. If not, then I just missed it.

Not even really sure what terrapin could do to make sure that more of the bottles stayed in Georgia. Be nice if they tried a little harder though.

yeah, 2 cases at the biggest movers of their products in Atlanta... pfft.

    Distribution sucks.

I'm not going to hunt it down, and I doubt I'll wander into a bottle. Would be fun to say I tried it, but not my cup of tea.

Anyone who has had it.. any of that metallic notes the other 2 bottles had last year in them as well? Comes up in their beers alot.

First pumpkin beer in history that won't show up by the pallet load and sit on shelves until summer.

Yeah, but Avery makes good beers throughout. And it's barrel aged.

This is just their base porter with pumpkinfest spicing and in a waxed bomber.

I had the Pumpkin Pie Porter on Monday. It was good but not great. As stated above the nose is the best part. Lacked body for sure. I'm also not a HUGE pumpkin beer person although I love Good Gourd and Good Gourd Almighty.
