Molson Golden, Dos Equis, Bass & Guiness - I was a beer snob even in high school. But it would be several years before I would be introduced to Samuel Smith, Duvel & Chimay.

Colt 45 malt. It was an import because I was stationed in Germany at the time.

First import that I ever tasted? Probably something in a green bottle, most likely Heineken. However, it could possibly have been Carlsberg or Beck's. I could be wrong and they could have been Yuengling or Rolling Rock (not imports though, but both some of my earliest sips), and memory is fickle. That would make Corona also my first ever.

First import that I ever had as a teenager at an underage party? Corona. Mildly enjoyed.

First import that I was given as a present?
    Chimay brick w/ goblet

First import that I bought and actually appreciated?
    Lindemans brick w/ glass

First import that I fell in love with?
Rodenbach Classic (Stone rep bought me a sample)

First import that I became obsessed with and buy every time I see it?
N/A (there is nothing I buy every time I see it)

Due to ignorance, I would have told you Yuengling at the time

I'm not much different than anyone else. Back in the late 1970s I drank the gamut of what was available (namely Budweiser, Miller, and Strohs) Of the three Miller, if it was ice cold, was easily the best. Budweiser gave me the worst hangovers and Strohs just tasted off and could give a nasty little feeling the next day too. Back in the day most beer was $2.89 a six pack. So my roommate and I decided to splurge and we spent $4.50 for a sixer of Heineken. Honestly I did not like the taste of it, but drank it anyway, refusing to "put the bad mouth" on it for fear of appearing unsophisticated and uncultured. I would often buy Heineken when a situation arose that I felt required me to demonstrate that I was a person of refined taste. But I never liked it.

I think it was St Pauli Girl -- but it was so long ago that I can't say for sure.

Funny thing is, I haven't had a St Pauli for at least 30 years since (not because I hated it, I simply never bought it again).

If you try it again (and get it without being lightstruck), you may be pleasantly surprised. It's probably the best of the Euro-lagers in that price range.
