I'm not really a wheat beer guy so it's a rather unfortunate line-up for me, but I expected that.

Bottles are MI Wheatwine and Weizenbock only...plus the meads. The list is just written kinda funny.

Ah, thanks. That clears it up then!

No Solar Eclipse? I thought that was a regular for the SS.

Also will these beers still be around by the weekend, I have a buddy coming in from Chicago and we hadn't planned on heading up but might if they are still going.

I'm all in on the wheat wine. Some of the meads sound pretty solid, too.

I am imagining an herbal, almost tea-like quality to a lot of them. If that means they will be anything like the Tropical Breeze Black Tea mead, they will be outstanding.

That line-up looks bad even for a Summer Solstice. Only 2 bottle releases? I'll pass.

The various sour wheats sound interesting but I've really had mixed feelings about Kuhnhenn's sour stuff in the past. In fact the only one I've really been a fan of was the Blueberry Lambic they had at the 2010 Winter Solstice.

Their website says they currently have bottles of Vanilla Gorillabilly and Bourbon Barrel Sack. I'd see if they have those before I tried any of those herbal meads.

Bummer on the bottle list. Hope this isn't the new norm for the Solstice releases.

Guess I can save a day off for something else now.

ZOMG that blueberry lambic was SO good. I was hoping for it to return for 2011, but had to make do with buying multiple cases of BB4D. And you won't hear me complaining.

Solar was Wayne's baby...he's been brewing that for years, before his time at Kuhnhenn. Not an absolute, but you'll be lucky to see it again...

That's how the Summer Solstice releases pretty much always are.

Curious, but has anyone heard whether the sour wheats are Berliner Weisses? Cuz that would be awesome if they are.

Think light wheat malt plus a bit of extract or syrup. Not lambic or berliner weiss.

I'm kind of new to the scene here. I live pretty close to Kuhnhenn, so I was planning on going at some point that day. If anyone is interested in meeting up I would like to be able to meet some of the folks on the site here. Looking forward to seeing what some of these wheats taste like, I generally like everything they do.

I remember having it at the Summer Beer Fest when he brewed at Bo's.

For me, It's less about what beer they release in bottles than how many beers they release in bottles. I just can't justify taking a day off and driving from the other side of the state for two 6 packs. If I recall, they had 6 different beers bottled last year.

Does anyone know the answer to this question?

I think I am done buying bottles of beer from these guys. The meads are fine but in the past two weeks I have looked at some of my bottles of BB4d and BBBW. I am assuming they are handfilling and capping by hand still since none of the bottles have the same amount of beer in them. One of my BBBWs was chipped on the cap and flat. A BB4D of mine had a crack in it somewhere and has slowly been leaking and was covered in mold at the bottom. I am not really worried since it was just two bottles of beer but at the same time that was fifteen dollars down the drain literally. I plan on just checking out what they have on tap and grabbing a couple bottles of mead. I have only had great experiences with them but bottle better

Seems to be a running thing. Heard similar things about the cherries and Apples too. Not 90 percent loss but that the crops were severely damaged. That nice little march heatwave everyone was loving really hurt us bad.
