My local bottle shop has a few of these and am wondering if this is a fair price? I know it's all relative and have spent way too much on some bourbon just don't know the beer craft well enough yet to know if it is fair.

paid $21 when it showed up in Boston last December.
Life isn't fair. Buy it if you want to and can afford it.

In CA? That's a bit pricy. I remember around 17 I think. It didn't last Long enough for me to remember the details.

    Santa Barbara.

Thanks for the reply's gentleman. I just found the "Most overpriced buys" thread and that's giving me a good feel. Trying to stock up on some better beers so I can start trading.

17th isn't good trade ammo? Wait a few, there's always a "completist" in the beer geek spectrum.

Should be around 23 or 24 bucks. Definitely overpriced by a bit but I'm a sucker for FW so I'd probably still get it haha.

Really? ok maybe I should just buy to drink for a year or so.

Thanks again for the reply's, M-14 I think I will just pull the trigger and enjoy like you did. I have a lot of credit built up with these guys thru bourbon so I'm going to ask for 26.99$

When 18 hits the shelves after oct 25th then yeah it will be more expensive. At the brewery store in Paso Robles they start at $23 for a 17th and get progressively more expensive. When I went they had 17-15.

They are definitely between $18 to $23 here in MD. Once again, like @Shroud0fdoom said, they don't last long.

Your in Cali? Your store is overpriced. It would make sense to be hiked that high if you were east coast.

Still a damn good beer though.

The suggested retail price is $23.99 per the press release. The folks seeing it below $20 are either mistaken or have awesome retailers.

Its a great beer though, so I might consider it (to drink, not trade) even with the mark up

Yeah, I can hardly believe people are finding it for under $20, and on the East Coast no less. FW's a local brewery for me and I've never seen XVII for less than $24 (at Barrelworks). Anyway OP, $30's a bit steep, but it's a damn good beer—if you haven't had it, I'd say go for it.

Specifically in Montecito correct? I know this bottle shop...I stopped by there about 2 months ago and they still had at least two cases left of 17@ $29.99. If you want it, buy it, cause your not gonna find it anywhere else.

Considering its been aged nearly a year, it might be worth $30 to you, ESPECIALLY if you've never had it before. I mean, if you were to trade for one right now, you'd probably have to spend at least that much.

Yeah I purchased 17 for $23.99 in socal. It was between $23.99 and $26.99 at all of the local liquor stores. 16 was around $16.99 if I remember correctly. Was kind of annoyed at the price jump for just one year, and personally I was not even of a fan of 17. It was ok, but I liked 16 better for $7 cheaper. Not to mention Parabola which I have seen for as low as $14.99 which is better than both of them. However given the fact that it's a pretty rare beer to come across this long after its release I don't think $29.99 is unreasonable. A little pricey, but not unreasonable.
