I am guilty of trying to change the subject in posts. thread jack, sorry guilty...but I get bored.

I still love the guy that posts well I not read any of the other posts but here is my 2 cents post.....

This must be the brother of the Starts A Thread And Lets It Go BA: He starts a thread and either asks for advice or opinion but then is never seen again after original post.

 

Sadly, this is actually a trait of hardcore alcoholics. Their memory is affected so badly that they adopt others stories and memories as their own, often times using famous people in said stories.

 

It has happened...a few times to me in college anyway.

 

The "end thread" BA who makes a comment that isn't any more clever or unique or definitive than any of the other posts and then puts that phrase at the end.

 

This same guy only drinks Cantillon...lol

 

It just occurred to me that almost nobody has listed a favorable BA personality, let alone a favorite.

 

I am literally dying at some of these. Thanks for making the work day go by!

 

The Houdini BA.

 

I'm thoroughly impressed that this topic has managed to go six pages without being disappeareded. Seemed like it could quickly devolve into insults and hurt feelings. But I'm glad it's still going, because I just found it. Speaking of which...

The Johnny Come Lately BA - the BA who arrives at a thread well into the conversation and repeats things that have been said at least a half dozen times already. Give your opinion, but maybe read some of the thread to make sure you aren't the fiftieth person to mention Heady Topper in a thread requesting recommendations canned DIPAs brewed in Vermont.

The Thread Necromancer BA - this one is a bit of an inverse to the Posts The 5,000th Thread Asking Your Top Three IPAs BA, but it's that thread you see in the most discussed on the main page and check it out only to see that it's talking about something from two years ago. This one isn't limied to Beer Advocate--these guys are all over the interwebz

The Which "Vintage" of Stone Enjoy By Is The Best BA - self-explanatory

The Beers That I Think Are Worse Than Their Rating Are Overrated BA - also self-explanatory

And the overwhelmingly most-common type of BA that I find:

The Great Steward of Beer BA - while we all have our ticks and annoying habits, I find that by and large, the frequent users of this site--especially those in the forums--are all-around great ambassadors for beer. The forums on this site are a daily enrichment in my life.

But then how will everyone know what a nice dude that guy is?

 

I'm too late. All the ones I wanted to post have already been done (particular kudos @markdrinksbeer for the significant other in the avatar one - that's a personal favourite - "see I'm a beer geek but not a virgin")

The only one I didn't see while skimming, is the:

Not Having The Self Control To Only List Five Beers In A Top Five Beer Thread BA - because there's so many other good examples out there and I want to make sure I get the respect I deserve for knowing about them all, so i'm going to make my list 10, or perhaps just do 5 but then add a paragraph of honourable mentions

I'll take the opposite of the plebian BA, which I suppose makes me one. The Blue Blood BA - This BA looks down upon any beer that costs less than $30 for a 330ml and actively wishes for beer to be priced at a point where no normal mortal can actually afford to buy it. This BA's attitude is that normal people don't deserve good beer and since they can afford it, that they shouldn't have to wait in line or risk missing out.

 

Hahaha, brilliant.

 

Sam Adams Hater BA is closely related to Rogue Hater BA. So cool to hate BBC and Rogue.

Also, the /thread BA. I routinely post immediately after this person just to literally prove him/her wrong.

 

We have a winner

 

The unloved unethical BA.
Buys some insanely cheap high end beer in a store which he know has been mistakenly under priced buts says nothing when paying at the till. After wrestling with his conscience he goes back to the store anyway and clears the self out.

Later starts a 'confessional' BA thread seeking understanding and acceptance of his misdeed only to throw his toys out of the pram when he is universally castigated by every BA on the board as being a complete and total 'douche'.
