    The ABinbev apologist.

This BA rushes to ABinbev's defense no matter what the criticism. When ABinbev blatantly uses some tactic to smash some small local brewery and someone on BA talks about how that rubs them the wrong way they fly in screaming, "Jim Kimmich would do the same fucking thing bro'!"

Yes - and please know that this was an intentional poke. I think I conveyed that with the emoticon (another BA trope), but one never knows.

The "Help me out with an important life event" BA - looking for the hookup for a rare beer or whale to be consumed at some significant life event in the near future, including but not limited to a bachelor party, wedding, or birth of a first child.*

*Requires said child to be named after some ridiculously hard-to-get saison/sour/lambic/Hill Farmstead beer. Followed immediately by a threadjacking by other BAs who are also about to have their own child and whose middle name will be christened "Hunahpoopoo" or "Assassin."

I have very few 5s (so I'm technically not who you asked this to) - I just think perfection is well... perfection.
The vast majority of beers I can sip & say it's amazing BUT _____ (change the mouthfeel, or a little less this, or too much batch variation, or awkward aftertaste, etc). My Netflix account reads the same way; 5's are essentially reserved for life changers. One of the things that drew me to this site, versus ratebeer, is that I felt like every beer that I looked up on RB was rated 100. I'm more on the opposite end of the scale & get peeved at the "everything is a 5!" BA

Yes, The Black Plague is Upon Us and We're All Doomed to Our Pleasures group. Forgot that one!
I've been guilty here. I lost my 15 year old lab recently and blathered here about it. It actually was a great experience and the genuine kindness of many truly helped. I listen to "Pictures of Lily" by the Who often- which was suggested here (by Chanchan, I believe)- and feel dog lovers are a damned good common breed!

The Lazy Traveler BA - is going to a given city and instead of searching the numerous prior topics in the region forum on what to do, where to go... this person will, instead, create their own thread and ask the same basic questions about where to go, what to buy, etc.

The Unhelpful Helper BA - in the context of the above, this BA will selectively recommend his/her favorite places and yet ignore some of the other well known spots that might be closer to the traveler's exact location when visiting (hotel or conference, whatever). There is some overlap of this BA with the homer BA, locavorist BA, and a few others. Why recommend the high rated beer bar near the hotel when you can persuade someone to go to the place 25 minutes away that serves mostly local beer?

    The "LOL, TRAED" BA.

This BA is the kind of person who tells someone living in West Virginia, Montana, or Arkansas to trade for Heady, Zombie Dust, or Black Tuesday...despite the fact that they're talking to someone who lives in the middle of nowhere without minimal access to craft beer...and the fact that they wouldn't even offer the lamest turds in their fridge/cellar to the poor WV BA who's desperately trying to trade anything they can. Usually found infesting the ISO:FT boards trying to pawn off their entire cellar for a single bottle of Loerik.

The "here, have this beer" BA.

The diametric opposite of the BA above, this BA will feel a bit of pity for the poor guy/girl living in WV, MT, or AR and give him/her some Heady/Zombie Dust/Black Tuesday just for the hell of it. These are the real gems of the BA community, right here.

    The LNBA crew.

You guys know who you are...I miss LNBA, by the way :slight_frown:

    The "Pacific Northwester" BA.

These BAs always seem to find some obscure yet amazing IPA in some obscure yet amazing bar that they'd much rather drink over the likes of Heady/PtE/ZD/Pseudosue. If you see one in real life...interrogate them. They're definitely hiding some tasty secrets in their moist, Subaru-infested region. :stuck_out_tongue:

The Arrogant Homebrewer BA - this BA shows up in variety of threads, but the underlying commonality is easy to find - they sincerely think their homebrew is as good as those from top rated or highly regarded breweries. Even worse, they recommend homebrewing to others who complain about affordability of top rated brews under the guise of being able to make beers of similar quality as a homebrewer.

The Not Good with Math Homebrewer BA - overlapping with the above, this BA homebrewer recommends homebrewing to those who complain about cost of retail beer and insist that homebrewing is actually a significant savings over buying retail beer. All too often the real and total cost of equipment is not fully disclosed, as well as the costs involved in the real life learning curve of a novice homebrewer - failed batches, for example. Plus, the economics principle of opportunity cost seems to be unknown, as the time that is required to brew and bottle these beers (even at minimum wage) evaporates any alleged savings over buying retail beer.

i like BAs who use very little capitalization. post in new england forum almost exclusively despite living in new york city. post in LNBA. generally use clipped sentences in the forum but formulaic, overly verbose reviews. get into arguments from time to time.

i call this BA the god BA.
