i need a consensus. how much is a reasonable amount to sell FW11 for? I know someone with a case that talked about selling it at a local shop.

Because there is a good chance that this beer is well passed it's peak, I wouldn't pay more then $25 for a bottle. That is my personal opinion. There are people who will say $16.99 and people who pay ridiculous markups on ebay. Just saying I personally wouldn't pay more the $25

16.99 is a joke being that that was probably the cost if not less than that when it was released. (why lose money instead of drink one a day until they are gone?)
$25 seems a bit more fair, but we'll have to see what the guy would take for them if he wasn't just teasing in the first place.

Yeah, I started to think about that yesterday actually. Waits & restaurants once the fests ends is probably going to be pretty long, since your will have hundreds, if not thousands buzzed people with the munchies. Since there are also graduations going on in town this day as well, yeah I'm thinking about ordering food & taking it back to the room might be the best way to go.

PS Firestone Walker Twitter is dropping all sorts of beer knowledge.

What i thought was going to be a great event, has turned into an ok event. If it comes in bottles, it is probably not all that "rare" and what is it with all the Saisons? Luckily there is free food to make up for all the lousy selections contributed by some breweries.

I'm still looking for a single ticket. If anyone has one to sell, please email me at [email protected]

They're going to need to haul some full kegs home. Mikkeller is doing much better -- summer zitra and big worse red wine barrel edition.

Yeah, I'm no longer sweating missing out on this event. It seems quite a few breweries have interpreted "rare beer" as synonymous with "widely available off-the-shelf beer."

Not that scarcity has any inherent relationship with quality, but when you specifically advertise your event and sell pricey tickets based on the idea of each brewery bringing one "rare beer," it's pretty inexcusable IMO for attendees to show up with widely available beers like Old Curmudgeon and 10th Anniversary Ruination (a beer so limited it will see distribution to to only 34 states!).

I shudder to think about going near the pool at that particular Motel 6. Dirtiest hotel experience I've ever had, and I've been to more than a few Motel 6's. We found women's underwear slung on the shower curtain and the front desk response was "what do you want us to do about it?."

I agree. I'm just glad some breweries are taking the rare thing seriously, like Alesmith, Bell's, Firestone itself, Anderson Valley, fiftyfifty, Kern River, etc.

Oh, and Sierra is apparently bringing Knock on Wood, a bourbon-barrel imperial stout with only two reviews on BA, which certaintly seems to qualify.

Dude you should probably just hock your tix now!
I wouldn't write this one off yet with Lost Abbey, Alpine, RR and others that are sure to have some gems.
Besides the rule was one Session brew and one "Special" which is up for interpretation. Not all breweries in attendance even have what we would consider a rare beer.

I have seen no mention of a tasting limit either? In fact FW wants us to register to vote on our favs here.
Plus food and live music...just saying its a good time to be had bro.
Hopefully lines and crowd control are well managed.

Hey you know what is rare and comes in bottles???

Fyi the Motel 6 in Paso has pretty small, claustrophobic rooms for those wanting to do bottleshares there.

Well, I know at least one local shop up there is selling 13 for $50 a bottle now. As others have said though 11 is well past its prime and thus I'm not sure it is really worth much. That said I'm sure if the bottle shop is in or around Paso that they could put the bottles up for $100 and some guy here would buy one to try and flip in a trade.

Sun King is bringing Popcorn Pilsner and Batch 333: Velvet Fog. No word on what it is, as it's not in the database yet. Batch 111 and 222 were both different beers, so I doubt their style means anything.

Edited to add: Velvet Fog is a belgian strong dark ale that took gold at the WBC recently.

Maybe FW should raise their pimp hand and regulate a bit on this shoddy interpretation of their rules!
