Westbrook Mexican Cake

I thought I saw them, too, earlier in the summer.

 

I'm hoping for this Friday! It was friday last year and worked out wonderfully. Why change a good thing?

 

Pretty sure it was said to be one barrel of double chocolate

 

There very well could have been a double barrel choc in there. I know they mentioned choc for next year but there could be one in the mix this year.

Yeah, they mentioned it was technically quad barrel blend, but Quadruple Barrel sounds silly. The picture was the Prichards juice. So far my favorite for this year. Tequila is still coming, and probably going to have some lovers and some haters.

This question extends beyond just Mexi Cake.... I hit the ba Sexual Chocolate release over the weekend. A buddy wants to trade for one of my bottles, he's in Charleston this week (their beer week I think), so surely there will be some rare stuff popping up from Westbrook, Coast, somebody. Anyone in the area confirm any big releases this week?

My "buddy" is a guy I barely know. He frequents a deli I'm about to start brewing beer for commercially. He saw a photo I posted on Facebook and asked if I'd swap him a bottle of BASC for something he could pick up for me in Charleston this week. My "buddy" asked if I'd look into what's going to be available during Charleston beer week. That's what I'm doing.

Maybe you don't know what it's like to know a lot of people - so many that you can't give away every beer in your cellar to your "buddies."

Unlike any beer I have ever had before. This will be a good thing to some, yet others just won't like it. I love tequila, so that helps. If you hate tequila, best stay away.

No need to explain yourself as I really don't need an explanation. But consider my point: you mention a "buddy" wants a bottle you have, and then go on to ask what "rare" and other "big release" beers will be available for your buddy to get for you while in town. There is a lot of trade winning these days and not enough sharing of beer on here. Either way, I shouldn't have come off so judgmental without any further information or explanation.

I hope you both end up happy and enjoy your beer, if you want anything from down here just let me know...but I don't have anything rare. Cheers

Back on topic: let's hear some more Cake rumors!

 

I've rated over 1,000 beers on BA - the vast majority of them were not rare, obviously. Some of my favorite beers are readily available. That being said, I also trade beers. I share and give away a lot of brews, but if I do that with every rare beer I get, I won't have anything to swap for other rare beers I haven't had. I'm currently swapping an OHB Blendiculous 1 -one of the best beers I've ever had - for a bottle of King Henry, which I've never tried. Without the Blendi 1 I wouldn't be getting the KH. whether folks like it or not, people enjoy obtaining and trying the whales - for a reason - they're great beers that are hard to come by.

I'm all for sharing too - do it all the time - just popped a bunch of my one-offs to share with complete strangers in line at Foothills (for 5 hours).

Mexican Cake - word in Charleston is that something's coming out Friday... from a good source, but no idea if it's true.

I've never had any of the variants. Can't wait to try anything that comes out of Westbrook.
