Cask & Larder announced today that Ron Raike will be leaving them. Does anyone know what his "independent craft beer endeavor" is?

This went out to their mailing list.:

Cask & Larder is excited to announce Florida micro-brewing pioneers, Scott and Bill Morton, brothers from St. Augustine, will maintain the brewing efforts at Cask & Larder, effective immediately. The Morton brothers, longtime friends of Cask & Larder owners/chefs James and Julie Petrakis, will oversee The Brewery during the transition until a new permanent brewmaster has been determined.
The Morton brothers bring one of the most impressive brewing resumes in Florida craft beer history to Cask & Larder. The tandem first gained notoriety when they opened the iconic Ragtime Tavern in Jacksonville’s Atlantic Beach neighborhood in 1983. After a prosperous first decade, they expanded Ragtime’s offerings by opening the city’s first microbrewery at the Tavern in 1994. A groundbreaking venture for the era, especially in a city housing one of Anheuser-Busch’s largest domestic breweries, they not only achieved success, their microbrewery spawned numerous acclaimed side projects, including another Jacksonville staple Seven Bridges Grille & Brewery.
Everyone at Cask & Larder would also like to extend their gratitude to our former brewmaster, Ron Raike, who is pursuing an independent craft beer endeavor."

Read that this morning, some sad news. Anxious to see where he is going next, so many good opportunities popping up around town it'll be intersteding to see where he lands. From the sounds of it and after talking to a few people it seems to be a pretty sudden change.

Really odd to see just a few days after they announced retail shop expansion at the shop next door with possibly growler fills.

Curious why he is leaving, too. I have heard that he is somewhat limited in what he can brew by C&L, but I don't know that for sure.

I am even more curious where he is going. One of the 8 already announced Orlando area breweries yet to open, or something new that we don't know about?

    Care to list those breweries?

I think I know most that you're talking about but I want to ensure I haven't missed any. Orlando's been needing this for a while

It was very sudden. Even those who work at Cask found out today.

Strange, considering they had back-up brewers announced on the same day he left.

Interesting... I was just there on Saturday for the first time. There were some pretty good beers in the lineup (5 points, Horyezon) but there were also some terrible ones...

Curious where he will end up. Would like to try more from him.
