Terrapin Imperial Pumpkin Pie Porter

The trade value for this will drop when all the reviews bring the score down. Very underwhelming and I'm a big fan of roasty pumpkin beers. It was good but definitely not $10.99 price tag dip the bottle in wax good.

 

I am getting tired of the wait at this point. I swear the release has been talked about for a month and I know some people got it but we have nothing here and we always get Terrapin stuff quick.

 

You aren't missing too much, TBH. This one has a fantastic aroma, but then it is all downhill from there.

 

WoB in Savannah is doing a Terrapin Imperial Pumpkin Pie release at 2pm on Thursday.

 

I went over to Athens on Saturday and hit Creature Comforts and Terrapin. If you're in the area Creature Comforts is definitely worth checking out, all their core offerings are very good.

I thought the IPPP was good, but not great. The aroma on it was awesome but the flavors were muted and didn't back up the amazing aroma. I was able to get a couple bottles and I'll let them sit for a while to see what that does to them. For a hyped, very limited, Reserve Series beer I was quite disappointed.

 

a store in leesburg (central florida) called bobs got a case of it, and supposed to get case of good gourd today... i have been shoppin ghtere for years now, and have given the manager plenty of beer he cant get in florida. told me if i wanted one of them each, i would have to buy 2 four packs of a beer that hasnt sold very well (it is something from ommegang and sprechler). so basically for 25.00 worth of beer, i would have to pay 75.00 for them if you incldue the 2 four packs. not to mention the beer he is making you buy is horrible beer. i could almost understand saying to get the pumpkin porter, you gotta buy a terrapin pumpkin beer for a horizontal. i told the guy how i felt and said its ridiculous you are pushing beer you ordered that isnt selling worth a shit onto customers who dont want it.

 

that is horrible. I would just go in person and see whats up. If he is hiding the GG and Terrapin in the back, then you might be out of luck but if it's on the shelf, just grab one of each and head to the counter. If he has a sign on the shelf that says 'only if you buy this bad beer below' then take a pic and make sure Terrapin and CCB see it.

 

Wow that is a new low... pretty shady.

 

This just hit Richmond yesterday. Not sure how many cases total, but the stores that got it, each received a case. I'm a sucker for Terrapin (have yet to learn my lesson. Probably because I enjoyed CnR WnB). Someday I will learn.

 

Hit in Orlando today as well.

 

i agree. and the shitty thing is, up until last year, the guy had no clue what beers to order. I kept harping on him to try and get the terrapin beers last year, bourbon county, CCB white oak, etc. basically everything that is worth having in a store if possible. and the guy would not let me know when it came in etc. he did sell me a decent amount of bourbon county last year. but i just feel if i am dropping hundreds everytime i go there, telling him what beers would get traffic in the store etc, he would treat customers a little bit better. and this whole buying shit beer to get another beer i will never do.

 

Where in Orlando were you able to find it?

 

Total Wine Colonial. They also got a few cases of Good Gourd in this morning as well so you can get a 2-1 on your pumpkin beer fix if the shipment lasted this long.

 

Thanks man! Yeah I just called and they ran out of IPPP but they still have Good Gourd. The Millenia Total Wine has some IPPP left if anyone is interested.

Still hearing this week, but be warned that most bottle shops in Raleigh who do get some are only getting a case max.

 

Concur on TW at Millenia. I went around 3ish and it looked like they still had a decent amount left behind the counter.

 

I know Asheville got it last week.

 

Is there any IPPP left in the Atlanta area?

 

Highly doubtful as most places only got a case or two.
