Has anyone seen Stones new Mexican Chocolate Stout "Zocoveza" in Denver yet? If so where? Either liquor stores or bars are fine (although I would prefer to get it at a liquor store).

The only example of this style I have ever had is Copper Kettle Mexican Chocolate Stout. Which I love and you should try.

Does anyone know of any other different Mexican Chocolate Stouts that are readily available in the denver area?

Dry Dock has one on tap now that is supposed to be good, haven't made it over yet (assuming it's still on).

It most certainly is, aged in whiskey barrels no less. I had no idea this even existed or was on tap.

Jeez I posted like 2 days ago that they were tapping it, STOP IGNORING ME MCNAZZ!

Also, in terms of Zocoveza, Mondo just posted that they got it, so assuming it'll be all over the place in the next day or two.

Sure wish Clown Shoes was still here, I really enjoyed their Chocolate Sombrero. It didn't have the extreme pepper heat of Copper Kettle as it definitely goes the more balanced route. You might be able to find a dusty bottle of it somewhere.

I guess I have a high tolerance for heat because the Copper Kettle Stout is refreshing to me.

Planning on going by this Saturday to check out all the new stuff they have on a buy a few bombers.

I have been reading the same stuff and the reviews are glowing. Maybe not Huna level, but comparable to Mexican Cake (which i actually prefer) from what I've heard.

Copper Kettle's is just a bit too hot for me spice-wise and lacks the body I look for in a big stout.

I picked up the Stone one today at Chambers Wine & Liquor

Captain Howdy was still on today. I did like it. Although it's whiskey barrel aged, I thought the barrel was pretty much non-existent. It's pops up a tiny bit in the aftertaste after several sips. The spicing was heavy, so it may have simply been overridden. I had 2 glasses and was quite happy. It was $25 for a growler fill which I decided to pass on. I liked it, but not that much.

Thanks for the replies guys. Just finished my first bottle. Good but not great. I wanted some spice, I got none. I understand that my palate is not sensitive to spice but I'm left wanting more. Copper Kettle Mexican Chocolate Stout BLOWS THE DOORS OFF XOCOVEZA!!!! Xocoveza has a little more going on but Copper Kettle is just much better.
