    I want a Shit Show...!
    Shit Show = Demand...
Demand = Brewers gotta produce a lot more damn good product to get noticed...
A lot more damn good product = Greater Supply and options...
Greater Supply and options = Me not having to drink Dark Fatha or Natty Ice..
Me not having to daring Dark Fatha or Natty Ice = Beer Happiness

Hence Shit show (eventually) = Beer Happiness

Name a semi-limited release that isn't a shit show anymore. Craft beer has just gotten huge.

No pushing and everyone was calm.

    Notables include:

    2008 BCBS 12oz
    2009 BCBS bombers
    Westy XII
Case of 12 and 13 Darkness
    Expedition 09-12 verticals
    Bigfoot 10-13 verticals
Couple bottles of 10th Anniversary Utopia

Also saw one bottle of 10 year Pappy Van Winkle for $40.

Shawn opened the 09 Darkness, 10 Darkness, and Surly Four that has been in the case up front for several years.

What MNPikey said; I picked up a Backwoods vertical (10-13), which happens to be what I went for. Also grabbed a Rowan's Creek... it's bourbon season!

That'd be Old Rip Van Winkle. Still delicious though.

I'm guessing they had to practically give those away. They aren't even barrel aged!

I wasn't there in time to see the big guns on the table, so I'm not sure what they went for, but it appeared to me that there was no to little markup across the board. I grabbed a 4-year Bigfoot for $9.99 and a 2013 Le Terroir (which is maybe my favorite beer period) for $8.99. Kudos to Zipp's for pricing things incredibly fairly.

I thought this event was run very well, fwiw. I feel like most people got something worthwhile or of it. It was great that they handed out the bourbon county stuff and KBS hourly instead of at just one time. Plenty of black butte from last 3 years. Some great new Belgium sours. I saw one guy with a six pack of Bell's 25th anniversary ale.
I wasn't one of the lucky souls that for my hands on darkness, but there wasn't even a price tag on some of the darkness bottles.

I was able to nab a 2008 and 2012 bcbs, 4 pack of founders 2010 imperial Stout and the vertical of expedition stout. Total about $40, totally worth it!

For the future,is it frowned upon to post these kinds of heads ups here? I think I might have angered some people and that's the last thing I wanted.

I thought they did a decent job with a tough situation. I was there for the 3 pm drop and managed a 2012 BCBS, a KBS and a 4-pack of 2010 backwoods bastard. I feel there were many people who weren't as lucky.

The lack of regulation of their 'rules' seemed to be an issue. My there were people walking around with a load from the 2 pm release that hung around and scored even more at 3 pm. It is what it is...not sure how you stop the hoarders. Overall it was a cool event, on top of my small haul I sampled a 2012 Darkness and a Four. Can't complain.

It wasn't a secret. Zipps had been tweeting about it for weeks.

That is the direct opposite of advocacy... If more and more people keep things hush hush, and never let other BA'rs know wants going on in this city - then this forum need not exist... I think things work much better if it's a community rather then a every man (or woman) for themselves...Although not a secret - appreciate you posting it on here!

    I wouldn't sweat it.

Like @MNPikey said it wasn't a secret. Even if it was, you will get mixed opinions and probably damned if you do and damned if you don't.

This site is about enjoying beer and sharing the experience. Can't please everyone.
